R.I.P. Neil Peart

Boy, he kept this under wraps didn't he. I thought he was trying to while away a decade or more in relative obscurity driving his cars and drinking his whiskey.

So sad to hear. Rush has been the soundtrack to most of my life, hate to see Neil Peart go.

Edit: I feel as though we lose a friend when musicians we admire and listen to for many many years die.

Thanks for the music, the concerts, the lyrics, the books, and the solos (about the only drum solos I could stand). Neil, I never met you, but you are an important part of my musical life. You will be missed, thank you for being 1/3 of the best band ever.

I am gutted. 32 years of adoration of his band and his work. It’s really, really strange, but I was informed about this passing in a religious message a day or so ago. It just came to me, and I started to wonder.

May 16, 1978 I saw Rush for the first time, it was on the "A Farewell to Kings" tour and they played at Denver Auditorium, Uriah Heep opened for them.
Rush's music had changed my life and I knew I wanted to play bass, be in a band and make lot's of music.
