Rate my custom design.

I don’t like the look of the plain headstock, so with some searching around, I found a gentleman locally who does inlay work and has a laser etching machine that is large enough to do a bass neck. He etches custom PGs and trussrod covers, and does some inlay work as well.
This is a general idea of what I’m going for. I haven’t decided on whether I want the solid or outlined design, but I know that I want to keep it consistent (solid text/solid image, vice versa). I haven’t decided on the font yet, and I don’t even know what else is out there. If any of you folks have some good ideas, I would love to hear/see them. Here is what I’ve come up with. I’ll put them in the order of my preference.
I am still in the early stages of learning gimp so it could be better.

Just another alternative to consider....

I did this one just by getting some clear waterslide decal paper and printing this decal on my regular old inkjet printer at home. One advantage is, if you put it on and don't like it later, you can take it off pretty easily and do something different.

Sorry, not Marc Bolan, and no cover band.

Hahaha are you referencing the Chevy commercial? I just hurt myself laughing.

I wish I knew which commercial you two are talking about. Link?

Stuart - Very nice! I saw your bass in another thread when I was looking for alternatives. I really like the touch of the engraved neckplate too, something I may add myself. I may try printing this off first onto some waterslide or decal paper that I read about just for a trial run so to speak.

For anyone who has been checking out my designs, I've attached a pic of the body for an idea what I'm working with. Obviously the neck is not the same on on the body in the pic, the neck in the headstock pics is maple/maple, and the FB is the same color as the headstock. I have replaced the PG which is now solid black, so I think the solid black would actually go nicely with the color scheme I've got going on. It's at the shop now having a nut installed, hence the absence of pics.
