Yes, the non-Fender instruments could be very well be better than a real Fender but I'd think a proud assembler would want to have his work instantly identifiable especially if it's better than the product it imitates.

My goal is not to make my work instantly identifiable. My goal is to give customers what they want.

The only reason I'm evaluating a logo is that a customer wanted one.

Look, either you dig this type of thing or you don't. Some guys really appreciate the kind of thing I do, or Bill Nash, or whoever. Some guys do not. Fair enough. Just like the old relic debate. People get very emotional about it for some reason, and borderline flame those who don't subscribe to their views.

We aren't talking about politics or religion here. We're talking about basses. Let's keep that in mind. :)

Ahh, the "I was only giving the customer what they want." defense. I'm sure that'll work. :)

What if the customer wants a bogus Fender decal too?

Would you give it to them?

:eyebrow:

Yeah, Dan!

What if the customer wants you to kill their first born?! Holy crap! It's almost 9/11. Okay Dan, you pride-lacking theif; what if the customer is of Middle Eastern decent, and he wants you to build a Fender clone so he can hurl it into the Pentagon? What do you do!?! Okay, I'm being silly and tasteless.

How about this, Dan? What if Satan came to Atlanta and offered to give you the Fender headtsock license for your soul?? Would you give it to him, you gutless turd?

LOL!!!!!!!!! Just a joke!!!!!

After looking at it a few more days, I'm re-voting.:rollno:

I still say no web address, but...

I think the font is fine, just remove the "fill" in the font and use a colored "outline", then maybe put metallic gold or silver as a "fill" for the old school vib...I hope that makes sense. :eyebrow:

In light of the posts that said the "Atkinson" reminded them of the Atkins diet or some kind of doctor, I suggest putting more emphasis on your initials (D and A) which will eliminate this issue, I think. You could use an extra large font for them and a smaller font for the rest of the letters, for example.

You took the words out of my mouth.

Like I said, some people on this forum act like we're discussing politics and religion. It's amazing.

Well, I expected you to evade the question.

Thanks for not disappointing.

:eyebrow: Why do you exist? are you a troll? Let the man do what he wants, are you a fender representative? Are you a lawyer appointed by Fender to threaten him? The point of his products isn't to rip-off fender. I'm pretty sure their to give a reasonable product and extra money for his family vacations. I don't think you have to worry about fender losing any money because of this man.

Not a ripoff? What else would you call infringing on a trademark?

I have a mental image of a guy who hangs around a bar looking for people to fight. For every zig comment you seem determined to bounce back with a zag comment.

You know what? I really dislike Warwick basses. Just can't understand their popularity and generally feel a twinge of disagreement whenever I read positive comments about them. But I'm sensible enough to let people do their own thing and don't frequent Warwick threads with negative commentary.

I've posted on here as a customer of Atkinson basses. I therefore feel I have some relevance. I'm not just providing a snap opinion that takes no effort and costs nothing. You'll probably want to make a comment about free speech and your right to your opinion next but I'm offering you a 100% confirmation that your continued attemps to turn this thread into something negative reflects badly on you. Whether or not you agree with parts basses is already noted. You are now just being repetitive. People are getting bored of your argument.

I'm not the one infringing on a trademark here.

That's where the negativity is.
