Yes. Reranch makes a for a great finish if you take you time. Read the basic finishing tips on their site if you haven't already.
This was finished using Reranch products. Vintage white and their nitrocellulose clear.
Duplicolor has a few different auto paint colors in a rattle can that will come close to Lake Placid Blue. And they're available in most auto parts stores. I've done a few projects with their products, and they've come out great. I used Minwax clear gloss lacquer for the clear coats - it's definitely compatible and easy to find. And it'll be a much less expensive project overall.
Reranch stuff is great, though. I've used it when I wanted a specific color that I couldn't find with the Duplicolor paint.
Really hard to beat the stuff from Reranch. Good price and is high quality. I also highly recommend their primer.
I also agree with above, Minwax Clear Gloss Lacquer is great. Always had great success with it.

I have a dye job in the works. One piece Poplar Warmoth soloist . The thing is the dye really brought out the natural color of the Poplar and dyed the plain areas for a interesting mix of colors .

Thanks for the advice, all. I think for this one I'm going to go with the Duplicolor and the Minwax clear gloss. I'm already using the Minwax on the neck, and it looks great so far, and I can get the Duplicolor just up the street. Plus i'm pretty sure they have a blue very close to what I'm looking for.

That came out great! (sounds great too!) The yellow-green areas are practically neon and your pu/knobs/springs colour is a perfect contrast! Well done!

My 68 Thunderbird with rattle-can finish. The color is Heather Poly and the paint came from Tower Paints. They will put any automotive color in a spray can of acrylic laquer.
For those of us cheapskates (and Canadians who can't easily find nitro-based paints, or want to bother with the expense of getting paint mixed for us and pay ridiculous shipping costs) who are trying to make do with places like Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Michaels and the like... here are some of the approximate colours from those various rattle cans one can find at the aforementioned stores -- the classic Fenderesque or Gibsonesque colours ---
Once again, this is for folks who don't have access to Mohawk or Deft stuff.
For LPB, I've found that Rustoleum's Painter's Touch 2X Satin Lagoon is closest. Some people suggest to put a metallic flake paint underneath, then spray with the colour coat... I don't know... I think it looks the closest in tone.
For Sonic Blue, Rustoleum's Painter's Touch 2X Gloss Ocean Mist comes pretty darn close. Daphne Blue, you could probably go with their Satin Aqua. I've had good experiences with Rustoleum products, especially when paired with either polyurethane or with acrylic lacquer. It's all in the application and making sure it's dried and cured.
For Seafoam Green, I find Krylon Satin Sea Glass almost nails it. Their Pistachio satin works great as a slightly more intense Surf Green. For Sherwood Green, Rustoleum's Gloss Meadow Green works as an approximate. It lacks its own metal flakiness, so I guess one would have to add it underneath or over the colour coat.
For Shell Pink, Krylon's Ballet Slipper is spot on. For Burgundy Mist, Krylon's Gloss Burgundy works fine as well. For Candy Apple Red, apparently Rustoleum's Red Glitter, coupled with their clear sealer is a close match. For Dakota Red, Rustoleum's Satin Poppy red would get you there.
As for fiesta red, your best bet is to use Liquitex Acrylic Light Red no.5 Cadmium hue. It's pretty much a dead ringer for it.
