SRX 505

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, I wanted to see if i could join the club and get a number. I just bought a SRX 505 for $250 a month or two ago. I love it. If i can i'll get a picture or two up, but i do not have a camera so it probably won't be for awhile.

For the ibanez club thread

Im new here so hi everyone. I am geting some new strings for my p bass but i dont know what to get. I am looking for a heavy rock/punk sound. Im getting some Seymour Duncan quarter pounders for my bass soon if that helps. I did search but could not find my answer. could someone point out a good brand and what gage to use, thanks.

I miss that pbass :(

Not only is this bass the exact opposite of what I play now, I ended up extremely disappointed in this bass as it wound up to have more issues than I initially thought.

I just bought one used from Bass Northwest Bass Northwest "The Largest Bass Only Store In The World!" WITH Tobias hardshell molded case for $700 :D The only problem is that the neck had a lot of high frets and I had to take the bass down to get them leveled :( Other than that, very happy with the bass. And thats just from playing it for 10 minutes before taking it down to the music store to get it fixed.

here is mine, kinda lame cab question. :D I ended up with 2 x410s and a 1x 15. still think the behringer sounded sweet though:hiding:

Two 4x10' Vs one 8 x 10
This is somthing that has been bugging me for years, in the mid 80's I used a TE 8x10 with a Gp7 preamp and an AX500 all in one w/proof flight case ( not the most practical "combo" in the world). But GREAT sound.
I have since tried to replicate that sound with more practical rigs, and so far failed. As you may have picked up from the 80's reference I aint 19 any more and I find it more convenient to travel without a road crew (heavy bar bills and too much cursing)
So in this quest I have just tried my genz neo pack 3.5 with two genz 4X10's in a comparitive test with a behringer 8x10 In my opinion the behringer walks all over the genz cabs, ( even the sales man went quiet) and for about half of the price of just one of the genz cabs, I dont think any one is going to tell me that the genz speakers are inferior to the behringer ones.
So now to the question, why does an 8x10 sound different to two 4x10's & has any one else noticed this or do i need my ears tested & if there is a specific reason is there any way to make Two 4x10's behave like an 8x10. Anybody?

Your straightness is still perfectly intact. I am a Chick with Bass. Two of them, actually.

Bass amp tone settings
Need to know from you guys what you consider to be the best bass amp tone settings for a live situation? Rock band two guitars, bass, keys and drums playing with my fingers no slap. I had own classic 1970 Svt with 8 x10 in the past so my work was pretty much done for me.I own a Fender 100 bassman now playing smaller rooms "150 people"
looking for like I said the best tones settings. owners manual is no help.
thanks

Neck thru, set neck or bolt-on.... Which one are you?

I started out on a bolt-on, (Squire p-bass), second one (early 90's Sound gear)(bolt-on)
After that I had a steinberger (neck thru), an Alembic (set neck) , DP custom (neck thru)
Spector Euro5 (neck thru), ever since these set neck and neck thru basses,
I can't stand playing on bolt-on's........Anybody else?
Playing sets and thru's are definitely my preference, any time I've played bolt-on's ever since, I couldn't see paying over a grand or more for a bolt-on and the feel is extremely noticeable as well.....Mabe it's just me......
