Reccomendations on Weirdest/Unique basses

Nice to see the Roland on your list.
Finding a complete system with a working 24 pin cable might cost you a bit. It was however, not well received and not just for its Star Wars aesthetic. The 707 jumped off where the 33B sat and didn’t stick the landing. As a regular bass it plays ok, they’re well made but as far as your list goes, none weirder.
It looks like these are pushing towards 2k without the synth & cable - low offers will certainly be considered because ……without them all you really have is a regular 4 string bass that no band would allow on stage. Anywhere. Anytime.

Except your band :)

Good luck.

Get a GR-303 and get your Pat Metheny on!

How did I forget about this?!!! Haven't seen mine in a few years. May just have to dig it out of the closet (if for no reason, just to make sure that the batteries haven't exploded), and plug it in for a bit.

It's such a cool bass, have fun!

You do realize there is already a long running (since 2014) thread covering this topic... https://www.talkbass.com/threads/in-praise-of-weird-looking-basses.1095757/
I do, but its not just about the look. I included the Roland on my list because I dont have anything that fully cops a retro synth sound. The Magnum cause I don't have anything with the individual coils for strings. As opposed to a BC Rich Iron Bird which, while unique and weird, is just rocking a standard P pickup.

I have yet to see one of those in the wood, but here is the B-301 I bought right around Thanksgiving '22.

I like the single-pickup simplicity of the B-301. The pickup looks like it's in the same mid-position as on the B-302. It would be interesting to hear what the two pickups in their positions on the B-302 sound like separately and together to judge what two pickups vs just the one middle position pickup offers.

Same idea as a comparison of a Rickenbacker 4000 compared to a 4001 (with cap bypassed).
