Correct.
Although the sleeve does not offer the same level of protection as the vertigo or m80.
The intended purpose of the sleeve is to be a lighter/lighter duty bag.
Check out the video's on mono's site if you haven't already.
I've had the bass sleeve for about 4 months now and use it for carrying either a Stingray 5 or a p bass between the car/bus and the venue. I've had no issues with durability or wear and tear. My only critique is the outer pockets overly large flap (better on the design side than the practical side.) I'd recommend it.

I just want to justify if the M80s will offer me reasonably better protection, keeping in mind that I take care of every part of equipment I own. What I need is a good quality gig bag that is going to last and protect my bass adequately.Nice to hear that!
My experiences with gig bags over the years there are ones I like and some I hate!I had a Reunion Blues Leather single bag and while it is a beautiful and well made bag i felt it was very heavy for a single bag>I had a RB Continentil and to me it is Big and bulky for a single bag also but has a nice handle!!Protec Contego are what my Allevas came with and are fair but I hate to have to unzip the bag completely in order to take the bass outfit is the drawback i have from them but for a lower price bag there pretty good though.The bags from Guitar Center Road Runner work for a cheap bag but after so long the bag wears through at bottom where lower strap button rubs through.The original Alleva Coppolo gig bag is what I have been using for a long time for just when I need a single bag for like a practice session but the material is sort of thin and it seem that the seams start to give out and also the zipper tabs are kind of thin and seem to break over time>I have had mine sown up and the zipper tabs rigged with add on material > Should retire it but it is light and convenient .When playing s gig when I take two basses the best I have found is the discontinued Fodera Double gig bag.It is very well padded both sides or separate and you don't have to unzip it all the way to get one of your basses out>I think this is the best DualBag going>Thought about trying a Mooradian but the dual one only has a thin piece that can come out to divide the basses.From what I have read here I think my next bag may be either a Gig Blade or a Mono M80 but am leaning toward the Gig Blade? Any Idea who has the best price for a Gig Blade now ??I ve has some other gig bags such as Warwick,Celinder F bass and probably some others but can't remember .All my basses reside at home in Hardcases but when they leave home it is in a Gig bag! Hardshell's take up too D... much room !
Hmm, if the Reunion Blues Aero is nitro-friendly and the headstock decal (it is '60s style, on top of lacquer) will be safe from the black-pad in the interior, I am leaning towards it.

I have a Reunion Blues Continental, a Mono M80, and a Protec Contego. I love the RB. It's extremely well padded and has enough storage room to hold my G-K MB500 head, a couple of cables, a tuner pedal, and lots of small essentials (ear plugs, spare batteries, spare clip-on tuner, etc). The Mono is a great bag also and is quite a bit lighter than the RB, but it's not as heavily padded and, although it has a useful additional pocket at the top, I don't think it holds quite as much overall. But it's still a really nice bag. The Protec is a good, basic bag. It's no RB or Mono but it's also considerably less expensive than those two. For a single bag, the RB is my first choice followed closely by the Mono, at least out of the three different bags I have.
I also have a Mono M80 Dual, which is fantastic. I *really* like that there are two completely separate zippered compartments for your basses - not one compartment with a just a divider in between the basses.
FWIW, I bought all three singles used here on TB and they were in almost new condition but cost considerably less than a new bag. Definitely worth checking out the "For Sale: Accessories" forum.

Unfortunately, buying from TalkBass is not an option from me as I live in Greece and the shipping cost will be high.

The Reunion Blues replied to my e-mail, saying that the decal will be free of contact and thus safe from the patch, and that:
"The interior lining of the Aero Bass Case does contain a petroleum product which could react negatively with a nitrocellulose finish, as will any petroleum product."
So, I think it won't be safe to use it.

I think it's cool how you can use it to carry one bass and put lots of stuff in the other compartment too. My band's guitarist just brought one guitar and all his luggage in a single dual guitar case when we did a gig overseas.
I pre ordered the Bass Sleeve when they first came out. I really like my Mono M80 a lot.
I returned it. The sleeve had the handle on the opposite side as the Mono, I didn't care for the unzipping two side zippers to pull it out ( I'm fine with the one zipper M80), and that " messenger bag big old flapping thing" really bothered me and got in the way and securing it didn't come easy for me.
. Carrying the bag in the right hand also had the backpack straps dangling on the outside where they would catch on things, the M80 has them facing inward to you and allows them to be tucked in anyway to keep them from tangling on things. I'd go for one if those issues changed. I had hoped it was going to be an adequate protection, lighter version of the M80. I was bummed but the folks at Mono were great! REALLY like the Mono M80.I have the Igig and love it but I find that when I'm going out I usually just use the Mono because it's lighter and has good protection. I haven't had any issues with it other than the emblem on the front cover turning a bit.

Mono M80 - looks cool, light, very well laid out storage and very durable. It is about twice as much as the Protec. Beyond being expensive, the only other negative IMO is that you really need to lay the case down to gat a bass in and out. Not ideal for me at gigs when switching basses and I am unsure if the dual M80 is different.
*Baird, I always pull my bass out of the M80 standing up just like the IGIG, I try to be careful not to brush against the zipper but I'm not seeing any scratches on the finish.
Beautiful cases by the way.
Just saw a vid on YouTube where they run over an IGIG with a bass inside and it survived!
I tend to use the Mono M80 more because it's lighter but I agree with you that the handles all over the IGIG make it easy to pull out of the trunk, passenger side seat or back seat! Very well thought out. That handle on the front is beginning to be copied on other bags although the nice but cheap Carvin bag had one too.
