Started out like this:

but the tiny jazz taper neck felt like a toothpick in my ape hands, and I wanted this look...

Here it is w/ a Jeannies red tort guard. I've got a Glaub neck on it's way home from Pat Wilkin's shop, where he painted the headstock to match. I'm also going to mount the chrome p'up cover w/ double-sided tape. The neck will be going to Carl Pedigo Invalid Link Removed (Lakland's semi-retired head luthier) for a shave down to 1.6" at the nut . It should look like this mockup when finished.

Props for the Ric / Traynor combo from a fellow Canuck, nice.

Here's my 50th Anniversary Fender Jazz Deluxe in Crimsonburst, a discontinued colour that is Candy Apple Red Metallic solid on the edges and Transparent Crimson on the inside over an ash body. One of my favourites.

I love these. I wish I had gotten one when they were being blown out. Still regret it, and I don't see them for sale often. I did purchase one on ebay, but the pawn shop that was selling it literally threw it in a box with yeesh a handful of peanuts. It was trashed when it got to me.

There's a red V2 X-Ray with EMGs on ebay now....he originally was asking way too much for it IMHO so the reserve may be a bit high...even MIK they are solid basses.

I missed the big blowout too but keep my eyes peeled for the ones that do pop up.

This puppy is about to have its EMG-HZ's yanked out of it and replaced with a pair of active EMG 40P5's. That should get my mojo workin'.

This puppy was stolen from me. It serial # is MD1582 (April/73). I want it back!

This may have begun life as a Lotus bass, but after I did a complete refin (including headstock), a de-fret, change of pickups to DiMarzios, and addition of a black Guild bridge and Fender nylon tape strings, it's all mine! This was my first refin, including use of an airbrush to do the black 'burst.
