I thought you were doing it as a carry-on? You got a Tuki right? I just picked up a used one and so far it seems pretty nice for keeping things compact....I gotta admit it's been the difference between bringing/not bringing the big red box to bar gigs a couple of times recently.

I check my bass in an SKB Bass Safe, and since I usually only get one free bag unless I get an upgrade to 1st class, I bring a carry-on suitcase, which was overfilled with clothes this time. Trust me, nobody's more bummed about not bringing it than me, but it just didn't work out.

Help. I have a gig tomorrow and i really wanted to use my reddi.Did the soundcheck today and the reddi was very noisy (hum..). could not use it. Any tips anyone. i hate to play without it now that im used to it. And i would like to sound good tomorrow since its Norways national day and we expect some thousands to hear us.

Did you already try with and without the ground lift switch engaged? Was your signal quiet with a different DI? Dumb question but have you tried switching out cables as well? Good luck!

Depends on the type go noise. Yes, try is to replace the XLR cable as was suggested. The ground lift can help with a hum issue at the mixing board.

One other question. Where is the REDDI power plugged in? Is that circuit shared with any fluorescent lights? Probably not the issue but can't hurt to check. Otherwise you'll have to try a tube swap.

The power i use shuld be isolated. i just came to think of it..could phantom power make hum? I told the enginer that i should not have phantom power and he is a pro, but maybe he made a mistake.

If the board has phantom power on, it will cause the REDDI to be noisy as well(if you haven't checked for that).

Is the cable run longer than usual? Try taking the REDDI to the mixing board, plug in there with a different shorter cable to test the DI.

It wouldn't hurt to open the box and check that the tube is seated properly in the tube socket.

I called my enginer (i just had to) He told me that he checked the phantom power. guess i have to do some surgery tomorrow. A bit frustrating this is. Thanks for your support brothers.

See if you can get an outboard pin 1 lifter. Always works when I get a hum. Whirlwind makes one.
