It's almost a guarantee that would happen if I ordered from the U.S. and had the item shipped to Canada.
I got L&M to order mine a couple of years ago. Very rarely do their prices not line up with the US street price without shipping costs. If you haven't talked to them it's probably worth a phone call. You might even get lucky and find one in the system they could transfer to your store.

Hey Guys -
My REDDI finally arrived today. I found a used one for a decent price as soon as it was listed at a GC in North Carolina a week or so ago, and it was just delivered to me in So Cal today. It was listed in Excellent condition, and that's exactly how it appears.
I can't wait to try this with my acoustic Beatles band when we start gigging again in January.

Would anyone the approximate year it was made if I provide the serial number?

I can't but congratulations on the score! Try contacting A-Designs directly.

It is, but there is not much to go wrong with the Reddi, and I haven't read of anyone having failures or issues. It is a well built high quality piece of equipment.
This is true. I've dropped mine about 4 or 5 times now in close to 4 years, the worst ones being where it fall out of a suitcase at the airport and rolled, and had it fall off the top of my gear cart onto concrete, and the worst that's happened is it slightly dented and scratched the chassis around one of the edges. Can't even tell it happened unless you look at it up close. Oh, and I had to replace the ground switch after the airport incident.

I can't imagine anything going wrong with these, unless something really serious happens. Floods, locusts, plagues....Biblical kind of "serious".

If you're looking for one at a good price buy used here on TB. There's a few for sale here for very reasonable prices. (Doesn't have to be mine.) Keep these in The Family.

BTW, talk about great customer service: I got mine used here recently and called A-Designs with a few questions and talked to Peter himself. Very nice guy! After I hung up with him I get a call. It's Peter! He wanted to elaborate on his answer to my question so he called me back! You can't beat that!

Hey Jimmy -
I did just that last night after I posted here. Peter got back to me immediately (Wow!,) and informed me that my unit is 3-4 years old.

I don't foresee ever having an issue, but it's nice to know these guys are only an hour away if I need anything.

Chris

Thought you guys would find this interesting: I recorded comparison clips of the Jule Monique, Aguilar DB750 & A Designs REDDI, in a variety of different styles, with a variety of different basses.

What are your thoughts on how they compare?

I really like the REDDI and Jule. In both clips. I wonder if that mid the REDDI has would be better with a full band. I think it probably would. "Oh the things only bass players hear" Go REDDI!

I thought all 3 of them sounded pretty terrific but there's just something about the REDDI. Always sounded just a tad ballsier to me. It's measured by millimeters and not miles, but that's the way it sounded to me.

Got to compare the REDD to this DIY unit yesterday. I believe it was built completely with the REDDI in mind (completely influenced) . Anyhow it sounded great and sounded like the REDDI.
