The DI out of the PF heads are a little noisier than the REDDI, but once you start playing, you can't hear it. I love them both...no wrong answer here because they both do excellent true-tube tone, but the REDDI is a little quieter.
You mean how he's got the REDDI input plugged in as an output?Something funny going on with that signal chain![]()

That was just a quick shot during setup. Caught that right afterwards!
Facebook just informed me that 6 years ago, I got my REDDI. I've put some scratches and a ding or two on it since then, but it's been a total champ, even after dropping it a couple times. Happy anniversary to me and my REDDI!
Hehe! Just mowed the lawn yesterday. Now that I've been working out at a gym for 10 weeks (and retired my 15-year-old mower), it's a lot easier than it used to be.Facebook also has data on how often you cut your lawn.
You can run but you can’t hide.

No, you can't slam it and turn it into a fuzzboxAs I type this I have a REDDI sitting on my desk for me to play around with later tonight and in the days to come.
I'm really looking forward to testing it out, and maybe doing some analysis and @JimmyM style comparos in the future, but until then, my curiosity is getting the better of me:
Quick question - does adjusting the level on the REDDI change the tone in any meaningful way aside from volume? I've searched on the topic and it seems that while many of the more trusted sources say no, I've found a large number of sources that say it does alter gain and harmonics.
Thoughts? Has either been 100% confirmed?
I have the same question out to the A-Design team, but I can be quite impatient sometimes.![]()
No, you can't slam it and turn it into a fuzzbox
It's been confirmed by Peter Montessi that volume only affects volume and not tone. However, if you wish to try slamming it, throw a clean boost in front of it. And maybe an LPF or EQ to turn down the highs past 4 or 5k. I've never done it but I'd bet it sounds good. You'll run through tubes quicker but 6N1P's are cheap enough.

The only real variable to it is adjustable level. Otherwise it's fixed at one spot and doesn't have much in the way of secrets. People just like it because it's great.Ha! My goal is NOT to slam it, but rather to just be aware of some of the variables associated with the unit.
Not interested at all in it for fuzz, but rather I want to see if I can learn from some of its secrets as to why it's held in such high regard.![]()
