Well it's always nice to take a look and see what else is out there. I've experimented, too. But this is what works for me and I'm not going to try to find lighter smaller versions of it anymore, except for cabs. I'm just very fortunate that my band plays low enough to where I can take a B-15 instead of a SVT/810
But I do want another SVT...I'll have one yet, yes I will!
Yep, and I don't think just fans of Ampeg would love it, either. They just have to get over this silly misconception that tubes = sag + dirt. Only when you turn them way up. Run them clean and it's massive and so darn clean it's not funny! And it has very flat response for all the knob nooning flat nerds out there

Likes , dislikes, banter, uses.. photos , gig talk..other gear that gets used along with it ... etc..
And I ask you to not hijack the thread with other brands of gear, unless there is a direct comparison , of which there is not with the mass produced yellow thing..
If you want to advertise another type of gear. please start a different thread.

And I love Genz Benz, too! But this is my thing from here on out. Just fixed my SVT a few minutes ago...got a huge outdoor gig on Friday...if it isn't raining, I just might get my dander up and put the REDDI to the REAL test...an original 69 SVT with the volume knob at 8:30
Haha.. I take full responsibility.. I only go off on my soapbox when i fully believe to my core that something is so cool that i have to share it .. And the REDDI is that unique.. IMO
You can try and Gut the front end out of a Genz Benz Streamliner , and pass it into the REDDI for the Modded Baxandall EQ
I wish i could help you with the splitter. I just dont have any experience with that.. Reggie Hamilton may though.. He is a REDDI user as well as some other A-Design gear... He is a FB friend , and you can find him on my FB.. i think he hangs on TB when he is able..He may also use a splitter at times.. Peter would know for sure They are pretty tight friends..
LOL! Yeah, words I do try to live by. I did also order a 2 band EQ pedal because I had to have something, but I also adopted stuff I already had as well, So while I am guilty of throwing money at tone a little, I didn't go nuts. Not bad. But the REDDI is the DI I always dreamed of and always had this feeling it would be exactly what I needed to ever be happy with a DI line and not get yelled at by soundmen, so I'm quite happy and thankful over it and want to make sure it always rocks proper.

I hope that all is well. My primary splitter is a Boss TU-2. It's effective and cheap and it can be modified. When I have to tune, I can cut the signal to the FOH or when I want to work on my stage sound or just practice without hearing my gnarly tones crush the FOH drivers.
Any volume pedal with a tuner out can be modified to perform such a task.
As far as all these guys doing these crazy mods, I have this to say... I hope that it's fun because it sure sounds like a lot of work and expense. My personal suggestion (take it or leave it because opinions are like...) is to tune the rig that you have in as many different environments as possible, using limited or no EQ on your bass. That way, your signal to the FOH is consistent. When I started out, I was broke and HAD to make what I had work so that I could eat. I forced myself to not change the bass and use my hands to change the sound. Eventually, meeting Fender and A-Designs, I was able to attain the variety that I needed.
Learn how to create as many sonic options as possible with what you have. After that, it's easier to make an informed decision as to what to buy.
I always remind myself that Larry Graham and Jaco Pastorius played nearly identical basses and rigs so it ain't the shoes.

Hey Jason, same basic design philosophy...tubes and real transformers. I've played through one in a studio. Did sound way better than other DI products of its day, but it doesn't do it for me like the REDDI does. No other DI I've played or heard even comes close in my eyes. You'll notice that the other boutique DI's of this style are discontinued and the REDDI is still going strong. I completely get why now. They all sound way better than previous alternatives, but I could clearly hear it in recordings that the REDDI is just in a class by itself as far as DI's.
