Her grounds for taking his basses were baseless.
I do believe Dave's wife also helps with tax preparation and sharpens lawnmower blades on the weekends.
I got all giddy for a moment, because my ex is named Dave and he plays guitar, so I was hoping this was his current wife.
But he'd never own that pointy thing, so I know it has to be some other Dave.

I live in fear that I will die suddenly, and my wife will sell all of my gear for what I told her I paid for it!!
On a more serious note, this can happen. My wife and I each have lists of valuable things and how to sell them / who to give them to. It’s true I have more gear but she is catching up.

this hits way too close to home, not for me but a guy i jammed with a while back. Long story short, his wife kicked him out for cheating, apparently she bought all his guitars for him, then took them back, sold them (2 gibsons, a strat and a full drumkit)....ouch!
I once had a coworker offer to sell me her soon to be X’s firearms for pennys on the dollar just to be spiteful. I turned it down and have no idea what became of them.
Dave is going through a re-education program. Going forward, Dave needs to clear gear purchases with Management first. 
Pointed reversed headstocks. I'm just saying. OK-ish when you're single but once you are in a committed relationship they don't fly.
