I use a constant but very faint reverb with a ME-50b. I've thought of adding a seperate pedal for it because it eats one patch for my basic sound plus I can't use it along the modulations. Damn crippled effect.

I use the Verbzilla. Sounds great! I mostly use a Spring reverb. I can dial in exactly what I want with the controls, so it doesn't ever sound muddy or bad to my ears. The Spring is usually pretty subtle.
I also use the Octa setting, which is amazing. It resonates harmonics to the notes that you play. Plenty of great sounds to be had.
I used to use an ART processor for Reverse and Gated verb, but I plan on getting the Digiverb sometime to cover those. Me and Doug Wimbish, man. ;-D
I also play mostly experimental music, though. I would often play a lead role with bass, so I was reall given a lot of room to make sounds and use effects. YMMV

That must be the one that was freakin' me at a music store once last year. ..Like - it gives back a reverbed octave of of what you put in - right?

The closest I get to reverb is short delay settings on my DSD-3. Since it has some high end roll off with each pass (similar to an analog unit) it get get a decent reverb sound.
But, I only mess around with it to make a little noise. Certainly not practical for my uses

I really want a Verbzilla, but it is lower on my list because it's more of a solo thing, and not as applicable for me in live settings as it is for say, a guitarist or vocalist. But the samples on Line 6's site are really what I'm looking for.

i forgot to add that i use my Marshall Micro Stack's Reverb when i want to have fun and create tons of weird noises and cool sounds. i usually rock the amp and slap the amp and do all kinds of strange things with it.

It really is a fantastic unit! More robust than what I was expecting out of Line 6, too. Definitely worth the cash.
If only it had Gated/Reverse.

I've been working like crazy on my solo-stuff - most-recently, I've been woking on all-tapped arrangements of Money by Floyd and Little Girl by Steve Miller. Both sound so cool and grooveful tapped-out in two parts like that.
Reverb would be so cool for that kind of show - and with my cab being a JBL PA cab, I really should take advantage of some studio-y sounding stuff like that. When I think about it, though, I wonder if I could only choose 'verb or tap-delay (at-first, I mean)... I wonder if tempo-timed delay would potentially add MORE amazo-factor to my stuff.
That GC gift card I got from my Bro for Christmas is still just sittin'-there in my wallet.

Joe, I really think you'll dig the Verbzilla.
It's the best reverb pedal I've ever used. And knowing your style and how ingenuitive you are with your effects, I think you will definitely do some cool stuff with the verbzilla.

It isn't a rackmount unit, but the controls really give you enough freedom to keep it from getting muddy. It doesn't have a crossover, but between the mix and the damper knobs, you can probably rig it up to your likings.

There's a clip on my MySpace site (link's in my profile) that showcases some of the mutant stuff the Intellifex can do too. Second track at the moment: "It's All Good". Everything that isn't vocals or drums is bass on that one. All the vocal processing is through the Intellifex as well.

The Tube Works is effectively two tube-driven spring reverbs in one - each with the biggest spring tank available. You can use it as summed mono (though I'm not sure why you would); mono-in, stereo out; or discrete stereo, so the two signals are totally separate. I'd say it's about as high-end as you can get with spring reverb, and the price they're going for on eBay these days reflects that. I managed to get mine for cheap somehow.
I'd be interested to know if anybody here has played through one of those studio reverbs with a 5-digit price tag. They're really for vocals, obviously, but I'd like to know what 20 grand of reverb sounds like.

Just out of curiosity, are you sure both channels have the same spring tank? All of the two channel rackmount spring verbs I've seen had a long spring on one channel and a short spring on the other.
I use a rack mounted Peavy Valverb and Chandler Sterio Digital Echo Delay....both very old. They're always on but very sparingly through an effects loop...

Invalid Link Removed I think I might swap one or both of the tanks out for shorter springs, though. Long on one side and short on the other is a cool idea.
I've just bought an EBS DynaVerb, and while it's a good sounding pedal - and the used deal I got was too good to pass - I wish it had a spring reverb setting, and could do longer decay times. Both are things I love using when playing my Bass VI solo. So, the DynaVerb will not replace the reverb plug ins I have in my computer right now, but I want to find something that could, for gigging. And thanks to Spanky, I'm now GAS:ing for a Verbzilla (the Octo- and Cave-settings seem to be right up my alley, for example). I've also considered some kind of a rack module, or even a VanAmps spring reverb unit. What should I go for?
Oh, and though I like reverb when playing solo, I don't think it's something I'd use in a band setting. At least not very often. But then again, that's true for many, many effects in my world.

I use a verbzilla. I really like it for slower stuff on my fretless. But I haven't come close to exploring the possibilities yet. Like the plate setting a lot.
I use this one as it has lots of options to play with, seems tweakable in a way that I can use, and was available. Smaller than a real spring tank. I'm impressed enough with the pedal that I'm debating an echopark if I ever see a cheap one and want a delay to mess around with.
