RHCP's new track "Black Summer"

Don't get me wrong, I love the RHCP, but as a lead single this is rather pedestrian IMHO. Kinda sounds like a jam that they converted into a song in about 15 mins.

And Frusciante's theatrics at this point... The stache and mullet, flexing with shirt off, goofy voice on purpose... To think I got my hopes up from the comments prior to the video becoming available... I should know better.

Kiedis? I didn't watch the video. I just asked my in-home privacy invader to play the song as I got the kids out the door.

The Chili Peppers have achieved a point in their career in which no matter what they release, there will always be enough of a core audience slurping it up saying it's "AMAZING" even when it's puke. The band has become a machine which rides on its past success.

U2 arrived here when they squatted out Pop.
They only have one good CD. It's been 40 years, and blood sugar sex magic still the only good CD they've ever put out.

Not saying they haven't had 1 or 2 good songs on albums since, but I don't buy songs, I buy albums.

Looks good too!

Ummmmmm. No.

My daughter's are 10 and 12. They have literally produced better music videos on their iPads on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Not kidding. Dudes acting weird with cheap green screen graphics? This video should have cost fifty bucks to make. And the little kid who made it probably isn't very proud of it.

And when did Iggy Pop join RHCP?

You don't sound like a fan.
Oh, the music is just about always good. They're great. If they would just ditch Anthony, they wouldn't be able to meet supply demands for their albums.

He can't sing. He sounds like crap. He never could, it's not something new. And, his lyrics are an utter waste of ink.

I agree with most of this, except the sales part. I think lots of ppl love AK and buy the music because of him. Beats me. I think he sucks too. He was passable with his pseudo rap back in the day, but I can't even go back and listen to that now.

It's kind of hilarious watching people bag Anthony. Y'all couldn't just move on with your day? You had to poopie on something someone else likes?
Didn't know this was the praise Anthony thread; I thought it was a thread to discuss their new release. Let's toughen up the skin a bit guys. I'm sure Anthony has heard it all and more and doesn't care.
