Rickenbacker finish issue (Resolved by RIC)

I was going to ask about this. How long does UV curing take to properly harden a paint job??
Having no knowledge of curing times at all I have twice put my beater/travel bass together too early after a rattle can spray job. The second time I waited over a week and thought i'd be right. Two weeks later I took it to a gig as a backup and when I took it out of the gig-bag at home you could see the material pattern in the bottom of the bass. That's a total of 3 weeks after spraying and it was still soft.

Paint is a different story.
If I understand clearly, Ric applies a (urethane?) clear coat over the paint.
When I've finished clearing a motorcycle part, it can be gently handled after 24 hours. After 48 hours, I'm applying decals. By seven days the clear coat is finished gassing and the part can be installed onto the motorcycle.
This is all air-drying, no UV.

The whole idea of UV curing is that it is supposed to take only a few minutes - if that long. If you watch the Rick factory tour video, that's the impression they give. But, who knows? Might just take a little longer to do it right, than they think it does..?:rolleyes:

They did not, they just told me what they did to fix it. When it gets back to me I will probably take the bridge off to make sure the bottom edges are smooth before putting it back to at least minimize the risk of the bridge messing the finish up again (if that was even the issue to begin with).
