Rickenbacker finish issue (Resolved by RIC)

I would leave it as is, don't take the bridge off.

At several people's recommendation, I'll leave the bridge where it is.
Once Wolf has his Ric back they should get a day or two of quiet time without any pestering from us.
Does the re-finish mean that your new finish is guaranteed for another full year or is the "old" warrantee still in effect?

Man, they really hate standing behind their work, don't they?
Sigh, I guess that's RIC's prerogative. They fixed the one, I'm thankful for that. As to their policies and whatnot, I'm not going to comment on that. RIC will do what they do, right or not.
I'm just glad my bass is finally coming home.
I can understand that to a certain extent however the more I hear of Ric customer (lack of) service and their (lack of) backing of their product the more I am convinced that the purchase of a Ric will never happen for me.
6 months ago I would've tried to talk you into one. Now, I'm not going to talk you into one, or out of one. I get the hesitation now. However I will say that RIC's are still my favorite bass. You can't (IMO) beat the sound.

Unfortunately, that is a common policy for a lot of things, anything more is usually down to the good will of the company.
Some excel at customer service, others not so much.
You're lucky it happened within the year warranty period as opposed to later, and that shipping must not be overly expensive for you.
If something had happened to mine, I would have to live with it, being this far away from California.
And it's very good to see it's on it's way back.
Hopefully no more issues.

My Ric just arrived at my requested FedEx Location in town. I'm picking her up as soon as I get off work today. Pictures will follow tomorrow!

FINAL UPDATE :
I couldn't wait until work was over, so I took a long lunch and retrieved my bass.
Let me start by saying WOW. RIC did a bang up job on it. The finish is literally glistening, it looks better than it did when I first got it. When I first got it from WW they had it set up pretty nice. When the TR became lose and started rattling I tweaked it a bit and then it played really good. RIC set this bass up better then I ever could of. It plays like an absolute dream now. They also put new stickers on it and new strings (!).
I can verify its the same body because of the neck grain. The electronics are the same down to my crooked bridge pup.
All input jacks work, the vintage knob functions correctly, and the pup selector switch works. Everything is perfect. I honestly couldn't be happier.

I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. RIC came thru in the end and did an amazing job with my bass. Total success.
A genuine thanks to everyone who posted, supported and kept up with the thread. It was a productive one. And now I'm off to go jam.
