RIGS OF DOOM - Ch. 3

the short cab is a custom-made TL606 cab with an EVN15L in it. it sounds awesome.
the middle V4 cab has four Eminence 2512-II's in it. i installed aluminum JBL dust caps on them to give it a tiny bit more high end. its actually my sounding favorite cab in the photo.
OK Red gave me some abuse for not including pics with my post about the rig. I spent all day today installing the speaker cabling for the last two amplifiers. I also brought out Wet and Dry DI connections to the #1 AMP / PREAMP and the foot switch connections.
The Amps start with #1 at the top and its preamp drives all of the amplifiers through the JD-7 which can be seen in the rear. This allows me to turn off or on any combination of amps without changing anything else.
The basement is blocked off with plastic for the next few days to keep dust from working upstairs so I haven't been able to "TEST" the latest wiring, but I'll be able to do that on Tuesday. I'm confident it will work.
The rear amplifier connections are duplicated on the rear panel of the rack. A Channel A and Channel B from each amp and a mono-block connection. I do have to remove a rear panel and push the switch on each amp if I change to stereo, but I run these amps MONO.
The KORG tuner is also on the rear panel. I just have to walk around back. This keeps the thing from flashing all over while playing. That isn't very attractive to watch. I will need to have a custom width panel cut as the JD-7 is in a half space to allow the thin slit above it to allow the cables out. The space below it will be filled once I get a custom panel cut.

Do you have any v/a clips of your rig in action? Or of your rig clear-cutting a forest or leveling crops?
The only thing missing from the top is the wireless.

All that's missing is the rack tuner, would be truly awesome if I could fit a Petersson in there...
The rig hasn't even been plugged in since the latest wiring completion so no A/V clips. I could put a mic in the kitchen and record my wife's crap crashing to the floor and breaking.
Would that do?
She insists she doesn't need to stack things any different and I keep having to pick up the pieces. Like I said, then I get the TOO MUCH power in the house lecture.
We are going to build a studio out back when we're done remodelling the house.
As far as the rig goes, some other threads have comments about the house remodel. We'd been stacked up with stuff infront of the rig for a month or more.
Here's two pics of a few weeks ago, some of this pressure has since been relieved.
This is a shot of my son's bed infront of the TV, the second shot shows all our bedroom furniture and other household furniture stacked up IN FRONT of the RIG all cabs front to back along the back wall. Totally unaccessable. We've since got our bedroom painted and moved in, and my son is now camping in my office awaiting the wife finishing the painting in his new downstairs bedroom.
While I can play the whole rig now, there's still large radio amplifiers stacked in front of the rig damping the signal force. They each weigh about 200# and while the rig can rock them, it doesn't seem to be able to move them on carpet.
Nothing like living in a remodelling ****hole

the bass has 2 outs, the guitar pickup goes to the KB-60, and the bass pickup goes to the 2x15.
I recently bought a 4x10 to use with the woofer so I can set them up on either side of the stage and have a "stereo" setup...
the band consists of me and my drummer, so that explains the extra amp-age.
That bass also has 4 strings now....

You do have a way with words. I laugh everytime I read that sentence!
I too am living through a remodeling project. We were without a stove from Nov. 22 until Christmas Eve and without running water in the kitchen from Nov. 22 until January 20.
Why a couple who's oldest child is out on her own, who's youngest is about to go away to college and who just paid off their mortgage would want to go back into debt for 10 years just to increase the size of their kitchen and family room when the family size is cut in half is beyond me (yet I agreed to it).
On topic (sort of): due to the circumstances described above, my Rig of Doom has been hiding under drop cloths since October.
To be honest there's 9 different meds they've got me on, and NONE of them make me feel any better. Keep me alive yes, feel good no. I keep asking the doctors, why they can't give me the good stuff. Give me what RUSH Limpbutt was on, so I can get addicted be happy, write a book and beg forgiveness from fans. None will play ball.
My kid's sociology class used me as an "Example". I guess I also have what amounts to an END OF LIFE crisis where the subject attempts to complete tasks he didn't complete in his youth.
I also never completed being an NHRA TOP FUEL NATIONAL CHAMPION. However with my ticker the way it is, they won't give me a Top Fuel competition license now.
I wanted to be an Astronaut, I'm screwed there too..
I missed the tryouts for the new bassist with Metalica, so I guess I'll just have to wait for a change to happen over at MEGADEATH.

BillyB, oh I could tell you stories. My boy is 18 and heading off to college next fall. The wife's push is to complete most of the "LOOK" of the remodel before his Grad Party in a few weeks... YIKES...
We only have so much money and I won't refi the house. I want to build the big studio out back and I also want to enclose the hot tub and build a sauna.. MAN...
This process started in 2001 and I lost interest sometime in 2003. I'm not a carpenter, an engineer yes but not a carpenter. Well the guy who was working with me had a level that was 1/2 a bubble off.
Now I know this is a standard carpenter joke, but I'M dead serious, this guy's level was 1/2 a bubble off. I had to fire him finally when I went out and bought a brand new level put his on mine and showed him.
I then proceeded to walk around the house with him following me showing him that all my walls tilted in my house with his level and were dead on with my new one.
When he told me my house was all ****ed up, I said, yes every wall you put in is ****ed up, like 1 inch in 8 feet I told him to hit the road. It took until December of 2008 to find a guy I could trust and try it again.
Unfortunatly now with CHF I am very sensitive to dust and ended up back in the hospital a month ago. We've had to be very concerned about dust since. Made it really tough to work on the amp project until this week again.
OK well now you all understand my ROD "Needs" it probably is some form of Drain Bramage...

The heads are SVT-3 Pro's mounted in an SVT classic and an SVT-350H housing. Dealer thought I was nuts and said it couldn't be done- but wallah! The other head is a V4BH. The cabinets are from L-R, '98 SVT-GS Gene Simmons "Punisher Cabinet"; an SVT-215 with the "Punisher Grill" and aluminum paint on the baffle board. Speakers are stock Eminence and I just painted the caps silver. Third cabinet is a clone of the Punisher that I built myself from scratch.
