Rigs of Doom; Part 4

Pedal board => QSC (biamped) => cabs
mids => 85-lb. vintage Acoustic guitar cab
lows => modern Acoustic 115+ Avatar 210

There are bigger rigs, and it is not much to look. But I am now the undisputed loudest member of my band, and everybody digs the sound. Biamping is why it doesn't suck, I think. It crushes.

That is AWESOME!!!

Who gets to lift those heads up that high?

Here's a photo of an old Marshall newsletter which shows (believe it or not) Donny Osmond playing a keyboard next to a full stack of 4x12s and a full stack of 4x15s. Note that the stacked 4x15s are as tall as the 4x12s with a head on top. Then some poor blokes had to heft the Major head on top of that...I can hear the discs popping now!

Yeah it does rattle a lot of things, most recently a picture off my wall.

Ha ha a lot of people ask about that cable. Well right now it is not doing anything and I just have not taken the time to peel off the tape and remove it. In one of my first bands we were so poor and could not afford a actual pro-metronome in ear system so we took the DIY approach bought the supplies and some cheap in ears (that were made for CD players) and made our own. We ran them to a box in which our drummer plugged his phone into and ran the metronome off a app on his smartphone :smug:. Ghetto as all get out, but amazingly enough it worked pretty well.

Here's mine (from top to bottom):

GK MB500
GK MB800
Epifani T-210UL (4 ohm)
Epifani UL2-410 (4 ohm)

The MB500 feed the Epi 210 (500 watts) and is daisy-chained into the MB800 that feeds the 410 (800 watts) for an unholy 1300 watts of butt moving power.

I'll probably NEVER need that much (thank you backlines!) but it's nice to know it's there if I do!
