Man, I always loved this guy. He always seemed to be a sincere, and decent person. He had the kind of talent most people can only dream about. Very gifted, and he will be very sorely missed.
I don't often get too busted up about celebrities, but this kind of hit me.
Just heard this too. It seems like a lot of very funny people struggle with depression. Maybe that is how we cope. Sad news. He was not always my favorite but sometimes he was brilliant and side splitting funny.
What a shock - one of the greats. Jonathan Winters was a huge influence on the man (who also had to deal with depression). I saw an interview with Williams who was recounting how he came home as a kid one day to find his dad doubled up in laughter watching Winters. "I knew what I wanted to be from that day forward."
