-Ritter Owners Club-

Hey all, I'm hoping to get some feedback from the members here on a topic I've been discussing with Frizzle over PM recently.

I'm frequently updating the members list, adding members as well as allocating who owns which specific bass(es). This also means deleting a bass when somebody sells it, provided that I get the information somehow.

But what to do about members who sell their only/last Ritter bass? It would make sense to let them keep their spot until they get another, but if they don't get another, what is the point of being in the members club...?
Of course, if the general opinion is that you need to own a Ritter bass to be in the club - which makes a lot of sense - what should be done about the member numbers left vacant when members leave the club?

Hmm... serious issues for a Tuesday :p But I'd appreciate a few opinions here.

You could ask what's the point in numbers? :D

I personally wouldn't worry too much about keeping a full record of who owns what, although kudos to you for doing that! Just be thankful this isn't the SX or Sadowsky Club then you'd be in the 100s!

Yeah, it wouldn't be possible to keep track of the "who owns what" if this wasn't such a small club - and Ritter basses normally so easily identifiable and unique.

I agree that specific numbers are not particularly important, it's more a point of whether or not to "kick members out" of the club if they are no longer Ritter owners. Or, I could of course just delete their ex-basses on the list...

BTW Dave - I remember you have Ritters new preamp in the Blue Orange. Is it the C-3 that I will get in my Okon, or is it something else?

I personally would just delete the bass, but then again I've always been an non-exclusive, accommodating type of chap!

That's got a two-band pre-amp in it that absolutely rocks the sock off! Not sure what it's called.

Right, I thought yours was a two-band pre... Hmm, maybe Jens is experimenting a bit these days. Anyway, I asked for something slightly simpler than what I have on my 5-string, as I'll also have the built-in OPA Drive to deal with... don't need too many parameters on this bass :)

BTW, I just heard from Jens - he received my deposit and by new bass body has been cut ! That was pretty fast...! :hyper:

Wow, just because I left for Carnaval, this thing is full of posts!!

Basdyret (sorry, I don't know names...), Your bass is going to be awesome!! You will love the tremolo, and even though it is hard to find a spot for it in a song, when you do, you will fell like, well, you will see!! Any green fretboard LEDs to go with the neon strings and fretboard??? Yes????? :hyper:

Now, what is new on this new preamp, does any one know and is kind enough to tell me??

By the way, just so I can feel special too, I'm also planing a new bass with Jens... I had some of my own designs (sort of a Flying V/ Explorer/Buzzard ish), but they wouldn't balance like my Okon... So, for my next bass, I'm going with the __________ body shape (yes, I woke up feeling evil today...).

Oh, and the Simpsons bass is awesome!!

Greg

Congrats on the new bass gregduboc!!
A Jupiter model???

Damn, was it that easy....???? :spit:
Yes, it is going to be a Jupiter, 4 strings, 34" scale. :D
But this are the only details so far. I actually am a bit short on GAS money, so I'm just dreaming right now (after all, I just bought an Okon...!) Hopefully, I'll do the deposit someday on the second semester. Until then, plenty of time to have ideas to use on the bass!! Of course, ideas are welcomed

Does anyone know how does it work with Shudarella? It would be a cool Jupiter...

Jens told me the pre-amp on The Blue Orange was a prototype for his new one.

I like things simple (vol, blend, bass, treble) but the tonal range on the bass is crazy. I had a local pro/session guy play it (I won't name him as he endorses another brand!) but he said that sonically the bass was amazing and the playability was off the scale.

For sure, well I'm pretty sure that I'll go that way on the next one too, which is mostly likely going to be a 5 string Cora.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I don't think there's a choice with the Shudarella's. Jens and Shudarella decide together what the next one will be.
Although there will probably be another Shudarella this year, nothing's decided yet on model or artwork (as far as I know).

@Thunderitter: The Cora is really wonderful. It's my main bass now. I just love the sounds that come out of that bass.

In a few weeks my band will make a (low budget) video clip. One of my Ritters will be in it. Probably the Cora :)

holy sh...

Well, from my point of view, if a member of the club sells their only Ritter, they should still remain in the club, with an updated list that says "former owner of______", because he/she can always have something to add, as they have owned a Ritter before...
But one thing is for sure... I ain't selling mine! :hiding:

^^Good points there, Greg - I'm going with that way of handling the issue :)

Now I just have to remember who actually sold their Ritters... :p

But I'm also with you on that last point - I'm not selling my Ritters, either ! Actually it's kind of a pain right now, I'm looking for a new job, and I'm scared to death just thinking of having to sell a bass if things get too tight... I don't have anything I won't regret selling for the rest of my life...!

Luckily the CT I have on order won't see the light of day for another few years... :p

Greg

Hey, I'm actually also a Greg - just short for Gregers :p

I'm sure I'll love the tremolo, this bass will be SO much fun...! When I told Jens about my idea, his immediate reaction was "WOW, that is going to be one FUNKY bass, man...!" :D

I'm not going with the LEDs on it, although the thought did cross my mind. It's an expensive option, and I think I have enough stuff to catch the eye as it is...! I did ask Jens for matching Neon green side dots on the neck, but I don't want any inlays to mess with the frosted black fretboard.

I seem to have trouble with my e-mail right now, but when I get through, I'll shoot Jens another e-mail and ask him about the preamp, seems we're all getting a little confused here :)

And congrats on your decision to go with a Jupiter for your next build...! It's an awesome looking bass, but one that I would want to hold in my hands before placing an order for one.

BTW, anybody else noticed that the Simpsons bass is a Royal Series bass, but it doesn't have the single "R" on the truss rod cover...?

Good luck!! I know the feeling, I'm sort of in the same situation, I believe... I'm starting a new business, so no income in the near future!!
That's why we need new basses. Makes us feel soooo good....:p
