I have one, and I am embarrassed to admit I don't know what it is...
I expect I'll slap my forehead when I am told, but I can't figure out the meaning of 'SKB.'
I have an SKB rack, but I'm pretty sure they have little or nothing in common other than the letters.
so, define please: "SKB" - in the Roscoe context.

Excellent question !
The "story" told to me a long time ago was:
SKB = SKyscraper Bass
And
LG = Little Girl bass
I threw this out in hopes it would shake loose the truth !
So, maybe one of the wise Roscoeheads will grace us with some edification.

What Johnny said. All true. Century is pretty self-explanatory I think.
The early SKBs looked nothing like what they look like now. I remember playing a six-string, set-neck SKB back in 1994 at Rhythm City in ATL. The lower horn barely existed.

I just put some DCB's in my Signature paired with a Demeter preamp and it sounds awesome. I definitely prefer the DCBs over both the Roscoe Barts and Bart Classics. It really opened the tone of my bass and has a nice mid growl that is not nasally.
Yeah, really interesting to know that about the DCBs. I am interested in those vs Bart CBs for a possible next build. The Roscoe Barts are great but a bit too dark/compressed for me.
I just picked up a Roscoe SKB 6 string fretless. Bass plays great but I need to get it setup to original specs. Dirty pots and loose pickups also need to be adjusted. Is this something that I can send to Roscoes to have done?
Any way of telling what version of Bartolini pickups are in my bass without pulling the pups? Century 5 Plus
The standard plus models all ship with CBs unless they have the JJ, JB or Aguilar JJ or PJ setups. The Roscoe Bartolini pickups are offered in the custom and signature lines only.

Century, for the record, came because Keith designed it in late 1999 and released it at...the turn of the century.

If you have a Standard or Standard Plus with soapbars, they're Bartolini CBs.
