Yeah, I hear ya. But if I didn't have her here to slow down my buying from time to time, I'd have a house full of basses and no money for bills.


However, I did buy a new amp rig this year, plus some other odds n ends (Radial JDI, another transmitter for my G90 wireless, etc). Plus I just bought new pickups for my Roscoe J (Nordstrand NJ5F's), and am going to buy different preamp for it. So, even with the "no new basses rule" in effect, I'm still doing pretty good on new stuff.

I had a set of DR Neon White strings on and I liked them better than the DR BB's but when it came time for a change I went for a set of Dunlop Nickels because I got a great deal on a set and I was quite happy with them especially for the price!

Stock D'Addarios or TI jazz flats depending on the sound I'm going for at the time. Gotta love the feel of those TIs

Black Beauties on mine right now. I've been trading around and got a few sets to try out, including LaBella RX in both nickel and steel. Probably will end up with a custom set of Foderas from www.bassstringsonline.com though, that's where I usually end up Black Beauties have been great on my Roscoe though. Love them.

Elixir for me. The new stainless steel version on there now (which just barely fit - taper is after the nut though not by much). Think I'll probably go back to the nickels though when it's time for new ones.

I liked the stock D'Addario just fine, but I am really liking the FlexSteel on my fretless.

When you talk about the "stock D'addarios" im assuming your talking about the ones that come on it from Roscoe? Gard told me the closest ones you can buy to those are the EXL1705SL but the string guage is a little different (B string is .130. are these what you guys are talking about?

I could not find a set that matches the stock ones exactly... Roscoe uses .125 .100 .085 .065 .045- Im trying to find the closest comparabvle strings as far as sound, feel, and tension
