I wish I were in the market for another. I've done some business with Greg and it would b fun to have a RMLE bass. He's a great guy and has always treated me well.
Koa! There were three pieces that looked similar, I enlisted Keith and his wife to help me decide.Wow, what is that?

I am really jonesing for this one but having a hard time in justifying it. I play in two bands, bluegrass and gypsy jazz so I don't know when I would play it. But still jonesing.
Thanks for the info, folks. I've ordered a set of the Dunlop Super Brights, and I'll report back!
What happens when you buy too long of strings? will these not work with a 35-inch Roscoe? I measured the Saddle to the Nut and it was 37.5 inches..
What happens if I buy 39inch Extra Long strings? Or in other words do you think they will work?

The Dunlops (nickel super brights, .045 to .120 5 string set) came yesterday (thanks, Bass Strings Online!) and so far, playing solo in my practice room, they sound and feel great on my SKB! Much more supple (which is to my liking, YMMV) and they sound really even across the frequency spectrum to me. I won't have a chance to try them with a band until a Thursday night rehearsal and Friday gig. I'm really curious to see how they settle in.
Super brights are the best string. You will not be disappointed in a mix. You may also be surprised that at the end of a long night of playing your hands aren't tired at all! They are balanced, expressive, and almost play themselves. They are the rounds on all my basses. The Dunlops (nickel super brights, .045 to .120 5 string set) came yesterday (thanks, Bass Strings Online!) and so far, playing solo in my practice room, they sound and feel great on my SKB! Me giving a quick demo of one of the Classic 4JJ's at our Charlotte retailer:
Forgot to mention from my trip to Greensboro.. this bass was in the shop, freshly Plek'd. It is killer. I almost got in trouble. Someone should snap this bad boy up!

SuperBrights are fantastic string. I sing their praises until I'm blue in the face![]()
I know you didn't ask me, but I always buy a 6 string set whether putting them on a 5 or 6 string bass. The .130 is nice and tight and clear. The .125 works great, too. I've found it depends on the individual bass. What is your favorite super bright nickel B string gauge for your Roscoe?
