Roscoe Club

I am truly saddened that I never got to meet you Gard. My Century 4 string has been sitting in it's case for months waiting for me to find time to bring it up to Raleigh for some much needed attention and I just never found that time. Good luck on your next chapter in life!

Well.

My father used to use a phrase (I later learned it was from "The Walrus and the Carpenter", by Lewis Carroll) when I was a little boy and it was time for bed...
"The time has come, the walrus said..."

...and off to bed with little G.

Well, the time has come, walrus or no, to make a pretty big announcement:

Tomorrow, October 19, 2017, will be my last day at Roscoe Guitars. I have been there for 12.5 years now, and for various reasons that I will not belabor here, it is TIME for me to move along. I enjoyed the job, and was at one time completely convinced that I would be like an old soldier and just die at my post (desk), but that time has gone, and I must be moving on.

Where? Well, the physical "where" is simple: Fuquay-Varina, NC. The metaphysical/metaphorical "where" is less so - I honestly don't know. I'm doing the whole "I want to be THERE, and I will sort the details out once I am!" thing about this. I am fortunate, and grateful beyond words to have the opportunity to do so, and will not reveal to those that do not already know of the how part, as it is a private matter, but again, one I am so grateful for, that there are no words in any human language to describe it.

Why? Because. Because, many things. These are known to those that need to know, and are not the concern of those who do not need to know - and no offense is intended to those in the second part of that statement, it just isn't worth being concerned about if you don't already know.

The next few weeks will involve some working on my house to prepare for sale, getting some things lined up and straight to get ready for the "jump" - at both ends of said leap, and saying "goodbye" to the city in which I have lived, quite happily, for the past 12.5 years. I'll be around, here and on Facebook, to answer questions that I am able to, and will always be happy to try and help out whenever I can with anything related to Roscoe in particular and bass in general.

You guys, the "Roscoeheads", have made this gig the best I've ever had, and one I am doubtful I will ever improve upon - I want to thank you for the 12+ years of great basses, great fun, and great people.

Dang! good luck in the next adventure!

After many years of enjoying our own forum it appears that after Friday 04-05-13 the Roscoe Forum will cease to exist.

A sad day for all of us Roscoeheads but on the positive side we'll be mingling a bit more with the rest of the bass world!

I figured that I'd start off this new era with a Roscoe Club thread where everyone can post pic's of their basses and talk Roscoe talk .......

Here's a picture of my 2 Roscoe's (you can view the spec's in my profile):

Now I REALLY hate that you couldn’t make the GTG.
Whatever this next phase of life is here’s hoping it’s wonderful.
God Bless.

Well Gardfather, know two things:

1) whatever you're going to, I only wish you the best, and
2) you will be missed

It's kinda hard to find someone these days who can take and return our abuse, all while building a happy and loyal customer base.

The only other thing to say is "TWO MORE WEEKS"

What!?!

Really a bummer to see you go Gard but I'm sure that the decision has been made with a great deal of thought involved.
Roscoe makes better bass due to your hard work and vision. There are so many more options now available on a Roscoe that probably would never have been offered without your involvement.
Thanks for some great years Bro! :)

Roscoe's biz really took off after your arrival, Gard. I think your leaving Roscoe is a big loss for them because your heart was really into making them a success. I guess now that Roscoe is stepping on Fender's toes in a big way, one of the big companies will try the usual buyout. I bought my first Roscoe from you back when you were at Bass Central, because Keith told me to give you the call to place my order. I've got a few very collectable basses I'll cash in one of these days, but I'll never sell my Roscoe's. They're just a part of me now. But it's an interesting coincidence that my obsession with
Roscoe's has ended just as you're leaving. This is a good place for me to sign off and focus on reality. Good Luck everybody, my gearhead days are over. I'm just going to play from now on. Thanks for the memories!
