Oh I like that one. I remember lusting over it when it was for sale but.......it had no fretless lines!
I can't drive on a road without side and center lines either!

I used to play the cello and the pneumatically-driven pitch approximator and that helped. I am not yet good to go all over the neck but that is not strictly necessary in the setting in which I play. The side dots do help, though.

So after a little experimentation with some pickup swapping I've determined that the Aguilar pre is voiced different that I'm used to so I have a Nordstrand pre on the way. I prefer a boost/cut personally.

I did finally get to play it on a gig and it was nice. Plays great and I got the action nice and low. It wasn't that that bad though and it's gonna share duties with my Sterling 5

Just received the notice from UPS that my fretless Roscoe will be delivered tomorrow!

Looking forward to that one coming home. I'll post some pics of the new white epoxy fret lines.

You pretty much have what I think I would like. 3 Roscoe 5 string basses. a fretless, a soapbar 5 and a jazz 5.

No. It's probably a great bass but I really love my Roscoe. I've never played a Zon, just heard one live. It's a little steep for me as well. I need a $1,900 ish used Roscoe.

I wish I needed another fretted Roscoe. This is a beautiful bass.

That price should be illegal. Wow. I prefer the Century body for the hang and access to lower frets, but for a "backup" bass...same electronics as mine, same body wood, a little heavier than I like but the price.

There is no applicable 'need' rule for items off of a clearance rack. Spousal approval not required! Buy this bass!!!

I have about 1200 liquid, I am tempted to ask my lovely bride about it, but my truck is in the shop for its transmission, so I will keep it to myself. I do have a Roscoe 6 for trade though....

I'm not wild about that top, but definitely the nicest classic I've seen. I wonder when Roscoe will start using more AAA tops on this line?
