Roscoe Club

What’s up with the XYZ bass language Gary?
Tell us what Ray bought from you! :)
Did he get that Zon fretless back?!?
That sorry rascal!

I hope that you guys wore masks during the purchase. Especially Ray because I’m sure that he stole it from you!:roflmao:

She’s back!! :bassist:

Who me? Steal? Of course not! We just blessed each other real good, that’s all. :smug: And who couldn’t use more blessings during these times? :)

We certainly used the recommended social distancing and wore a mask, although mine was a black one that covered my face, and with my hat pulled down you could only see my eyes through the dark sun glasses I was wearing, if you really looked hard enough.

Yes, it was the XYZon bass.;) I was glad to own it for a while. Anyway, I'm happy with my Roscoe fretless. You know, the one I stole from Ray.:D

Actually, I felt bad for the people waiting in line to get in to the Guitar Center. The line wasn't moving the whole time we were there in the parking lot.

The Curtis Novak pickups sound soooooooo good in this bass. If anybody is ordering a classic get Novak's in it trust me...

I bought and returned it because of a substantial crack by bridge
I talked them down 250 that’s all they would do after I returned it and after Keith said a total refinish would cost 500 but it could be tricky with the Buckeye top. I said no thanks lol

For what it’s worth, that finish has to be sanded off. It’s so hard there isn’t anything that can cut/dissolve it. So, at $500 I’d say that’s a great price (should you decide to have it done).
It’s quite unnoticeable IMO. But if it bothers you, since GC gave you a $250 discount, $250 out of pocket is an awesome deal for a new finish.
Congrats! Beautiful bass!

Yeah, it's noticable, but will anything more happen? I don't mind a few "character" marks on my bass. Both of my 5's have things that aren't perfect (wood is not always perfect) but I love it and it doesn't affect sound or playability or even looks really. I mean, if you can live with it and it'll just be a crack, that's a nice bass. Walk i with a pocket full of hundreds, and start laying the on the counter. Stop when they take it, or you reach your top amount. Let it sit there for a bit and see what happens.
