Those are terrible pictures. The bass is really beautiful. It's definitely not a one piece body. It's a striped Myrtle top with a Burled Myrtle body. There appears to be a nice slice of Wenge between the two. And let's just say she's no light weight. Looks as new. Amazing.

Pretty bass Scott! I like the book matched top and the pattern it creates.
It probably is a myrtle body too but it sure looks a lot like walnut.

How did the GHS Pressurewounds work out (C-E)?
I've got a 45-125 5 string set of Pressurewounds on the way to try on my Roscoe PJ.
I figured that I'd give them a try on a fretted bass before giving up on them.
I think I'm going to also try a set if Daddario Chrome Flats. I've got a set that were on my Roscoe STD JB and Signature SKB-3005 (and sounded really good).
IMO, one of the toughest things about going with a new bass is discovering what strings sound best on the bass (to accomplish the intent of your purchase).
My goal us to get different sounds from each bass.

I haven't tried the GHS strings yet but I'm going to. I would like to try the TI Jazz Rounds on the SKB 3006 but I'm gonna try the Fodera nickel ultra lights first. I love the TIJRs but they are spensive. Hoping the Fodera's do the trick.

So, I started with a J classic 5 build switched gears completely when I saw the KOA Keith had . So an LG Standard Plus slanted Barts and spalted Purple Heart fingerboard. Retro LG .

Oh I'm sure that he would Adam. Assuming that he could get the pole pieces to line up properly with the strings. If not you could go with a pickup that didn't have pole pieces (that was long enough to cover the string spacing.

Hey guys, quick question for the hive: Have you EVER heard of a Roscoe developing a ski slope at the end of a neck? (not the classics, the 3000 instruments)

Not me Jon. I've always experienced very stable necks on all of the many Roscoes that I've owned. Of course maybe I didn't keep some them long enough.:)

I do remember one that Jerry and I shared that twisted while Jerry owned it. I believe that he got it from the guy that I sold it to.

Well Blondie was gone for almost 7 weeks so I was beginning to wonder if she really sounded as good as I remembered. Plugging her into my (new to me) Genz-Benz 6.2 2 112 stack immediately confirmed that indeed this bass is so special! Plays better than ever too!
A/B'ing Blondie with my (new to me) Custom Century PJ also confirmed to me that I got a perfect 2nd Roscoe. They both sound like Roscoes but totally different flavors of sound. And the action and set up of both basses is perfect (and feels virtually the same).
Couldn't be happier!:)

Question:
I didn't have a new set of Da'ddario nickels on hand when my PJ arrived so I installed a set of EB Slinky Nickels. They sound and feel good but seem a bit to polite. I thought that they would be really close to the Da'ddario nickels but maybe not. Any of you guys compared the two?
