I'm actually sending the bass to Keith to fix the Vintage tone pot back to normal that the owner I sold this bass to swapped out and to have a small finger nail sized clear coat spot fixed on the back. Also having the Nordstrand DC pickups installed and coil taps. I want to have it done by the someone that knows how to do all of the work.

Go for it Steve. Mine took a while because it needed the pin router (which was not up and running due to inadequate power company transformers) but everything is up and running now so Keith should be able to turn it around in a week now.
I'm certainly glad that I sent mine now. No shim required for super low action and crazy minimal neck relief (with zero fret buzz).
The only bummer is the ridiculous shipping prices these days.:(

Oh, I am aware of the difference. My fretless was Plek'ed before it came back to me. Amazing. Better than I remembered. I sent my fretted in about a year ago and it came back a different bass. I mean, it was awesome before it left the house. I have a shipping box so I just need to suck it up and pay that shipping.

Oh I know that you're aware of the the fact that a Plek improves playability of your bass. I was just mentioning the fact that the pin router was up and running now (if needed) and the fact that the shipping cost there and back is double what it was a few years ago.:)

Agreed! I just restrung my new (to me) SKB 3006 with some Fodera light gauge strings and lowered the action. After working up Sir Duke on my Suhr Jazz the past two days, it was like greased lightning when I switched over to the SKB today. There is nothing like a Roscoe neck. I can't imagine what a Pleked one is like.

This just happened to me between last weekend and today with my 2ish year old Roscoe! Talk about a bummer. Huge advantage to playing a fretless is for nothing to sprout I suppose.

Now the hunt is on to find someone I trust in Western Michigan to work on it.

There is a place in Minneapolis called Twin Town that has a PLEK, that would probably be the closest to Steve, but I would advise against it. COVID protocol in this state has really runined the customer experience with getting any work done there.
They charged me 200 to PLEK an LG3000 I have... I had to drop the bass off at the front door, talk to the tech over the phone about what I was looking for, and then when they were completed, I had to pick it up at the door. They would not let me in to inspect the bass to see where the action was at. I ended up sending the bass to Keith anyway cause the action ended up being WAY to freaking high.
After having two basses sent down to Keith for a spa treatment, I can say that it is totally worth it even if the shipping rates are high.
