Roscoe Club

Truly appreciate the support on this guys. I've been beating myself up on this for a few weeks now.

Totally agree with the other posts.
Not every bass that Keith builds is a great bass. And it usually doesn't have anything to do with workmanship. It comes down to the sum of the parts.
Not ever piece of ash, mahogany, Spanish cedar, .... piece of wood is made the same by Mother Nature. And the same goes for various neck woods and overall construction.
Trade it or sell it and move on.:)

I'm not sure why anyone on here would report my post about the pickups being for sale and offering you guys a chance at a good deal but it's petty. I'll never understand why some on here have had issues with me.

Say what?
Did I miss something? I got my 2nd Covid shot yesterday and have had a rough time today!:banghead:

Interesting about the action. I actually was strictly a 4 string player some years ago and have since switched to only 5's. I took a few 4 string basses to Keith (pre-plek) to have the action lowered. He told me both times that he inherently builds his 4 string basses with higher action as he finds most of those players to be more aggressive in their style. I thought the rational made sense but on the flip side I hated having the pocket tweaked or shims installed.

My Burl 4 string is capable of getting the same action as my 5 strings... I try to hit .08" on the E string and get to .06 on the G... The flame maple 4 string that I have was unable to get lower than .120 before it would fret out, saddles bottomed out. Keith fixed that and now I can get the bass in the same ballpark of my other basses.

In time, the rules regulator or whistle blower will surface.

Random question... Have you guys ever had a bass that just didn't click, no matter how much you try? I am running into that with one of my LG 3000's. The bass is just slightly shorter than my other 4 string, and I just feel caustrophobic playing the thing... I updated the pickups and preamp, sent it to Keith to PLEK and bought a new case for it, and I fear I am going to have to sell it now. I've posted this bass a few times in the group in the past. Pretty frustrated about this cause I love everything about this bass but it's just not comfortable to play since I am a big guy with a longer reach.
(I can't believe I'm going to say this, but...) So is it just the neck that is bothering you? Did you talk to Keith about it? The price he quoted me for a new neck was pretty reasonable. Granted, I'm going on 11 months of waiting for it to be completed, but something to consider (and to be fair, there was this whole pandemic thing...).

Well if it's any benefit, supposedly the "hangover" is short. My wife lost a Sunday to it, and other people I've talked to have been through it in a day.

You won't be suggesting the "2nd Covid Shot Blues" then? ;)

I got the Blues!
Oh, let me tell you, I got the Blues!

I got a high fever,
That won't come down

I got aches and pains,
And I can't move around

I got the Blues!
Oh, let me tell you, I got the Blues!

I was tripped up by COVID #1,
Now I'm down from COVID #2!

Play me a little guitar, Joe!!

Too late Matt!
Ray has already been inspired!:roflmao:

Hey Brother, I dont think anyone on here is against you. You do have to realize you posted about these pickups multiple times in this thread. You also posted about them in classifieds. There are rules/moderators that eventually will get you. Ive been flagged for silly things, while aggravating it keeps things pretty consistent. If your seeking validation through a message board on the internet it might speak to other problems my friend. Roll back the sensitivity and feelings a bit and enjoy the community.

still has the plastic on it ... lol j/k

I don't seek anything from a message board other than knowledge for a instrument I love I do however get tired of the double standards that some mods and some posters have on a board I've been a paid member on for years. I also don't go looking for yours or anyone elses Validation.
