Rybski Basses?

My point is, now he is falling back on his "random checks" comment to try and make you look bad when, in fact, it makes HIM look bad. So, now he is either revealing that he thought you were sketchy from the start or he is just scraping the bottom of the barrel for excuses and evidence that he is not the flaky one in this transaction.
Ya! What's so sketchy about a guy that sends you checks in the mail. He's making a bad argument. It doesn't make sense to me.

Dude! Dude ! Dude! Dude! I just got this second an email from Rybski saying that a check will be on the way next week.

Call me nuts for suggesting this, but at this point iffin it were me, I'd ask the OP in the thread (didn't even realize it wasn't chauncey) to request it's closure. And ask a mod to post it's resolution once you actually get the check. While I understand your angst regarding all this, another week of contemplation/anger/discussion I dont' think is going to do anybody any good. You're putting, IMO, way too much information out here on the internet. Information that could easily come back and slap you in the face should you wind up in court.

One thing people sometime don't take into consideration is that justice may not necessarily be served. I've been in situations with judge's where it was crystal clear that the judge made their decision bases on his/her emotion, as opposed to the actual facts. While I understand judge judy is just entertainment and almost a comedy show, her attitude is not uncommon, and we've all seen people not get the justice they deserve. It happens in real life too though. It's happened to me in unemployment court, with traffic violations, and in a few other instances. Being right doesn't mean you're guaranteed justice, and well.... there isn't a whole lot more you can say in this thread. I'd just stop, wait for the check, and be done with it.

Also, you're putting a lot of energy into this. It seems it worked. Yay. I really think it would be a good idea to can it, till the next chapter. And I hope Rybski is smart enough to give you everything back, lest shipping or whatever. I hadn't checked out his basses before yesterday and thought when I finally saw his page, DANG!!! I actually would consider one of his builds, before this fiasco anyhow. I'm with you on the Ritters too, though. I think Rybski's prices however might have swayed me in his direction.

I soooo hope he does the right thing and just gets this done with.

Note in post #307 he has now indicated to Chuancey that he is going to send a check...it would be counter-productive to badger him more.
Yes! He's probably had enough and I don't want to put him through anymore. If he pays me back then he has done nothing wrong and my dealing with him will be just that, Business dealings. If he pays me back then I wish him well.

As it turns out it appears to be a he-said/she-said and was from the start. I should have steered clear because there's no way any of us here on tb can know the real truth. Based on not knowing I take back any judgement-based opinion and will once again avoid this thread. I hope the best for Chauncey but it seems like many mistakes made have lead to this sour saga.

After seeing that wood I don't have much hope for a clean resolution... I'm thinking either the check will bounce or it will be for significantly less, something like $0.01..... I wish Chauncey the best of luck though

EDIT: not good, the original OP hasn't been to TB since 2010, looks like the thread is here to stay unless the Mods grant an exception....
