S/D-85: Tasty clippings from Corey's Box

NCheapPD
LOL I needed some reverb for the Terror on guitar and used the Fab Echo for reverb in the past and have been wanting to fool with some flanger to use mostly as a sort of chorus sound. Plus I think with my operation and specialist visits my copays will be around 500 to 600 bucks this month so not much play money for GAS. Figure $30 quick fix till I can save up for the EQD Dispatch Master and maybe try some other flangers down the line too.

Whoa check this out 1968 Magnatone 2x15 "killer" M30 guitar / bass / keyboard amp

Hell yes man BIG 215 combos!!!

I found a band called Spruce Bringsteen, thought it was really clever. Real punk with Springsteen impressioned vocals.

I would say keep the name short, like 4-6 letters, easier to remember after a show and look up once you get home to like and bookmark the band page

Carvin makes good tolexed rack pretty headbox like.

Already built my own. Out of wood I had lying around. Because I'll be damned if I'm going to buy an extra piece of gear that should be unnecessary just to use my head. Also because I was completely broke after buying my amp and lived on ramen for a couple months as a result.

It would be one thing if rackmount heads came with a rack case that was just big enough to put the head in, but they generally don't. To me, it just seems like I'm being sold an incomplete piece of gear.

How unique is the name? Is it something that's only used by SunnO))?

We chose a horribly generic name, but ultimately, for us, it didn't matter as long it wasn't stupid.

Yes, if you google the record name, only the Sunn O))) record comes up.

The alternative to that one would be 'Priests of Azathoth' or other generic doom band names. :ninja:

Speaking of Lovecraft-inspired band names, I love how all the good ones were taken up by bands that recorded a demo in the 90s and split up shortly afterwards. Using an already used band name is a definite no go for me, so that bums me out like hell.

Really missing my Vulcan right now...Im getting very impatient. I loved how it sounded before and now Im really excited to hear how it sounds all fresh and restored. Especially with the fuzz and tremolo working properly. I'm hoping those and some of the things I've experimented with running straight into amps since I've sent it out will enable me to just run a tuner and a volume pedal and a ABY box out front with the footswitch.

I've been getting some great results with running straight in lately and using touch and volume roll off to control the amp, for both guitar and bass. WHATS WRONG WITH ME? NO FX? oh yeah all my dirt pedals are slowly killing themselves off and I'm too lazy to get them fixed. At least I'm learning something.

Just do what Mayhem did. Put "The True" before the band name, in the logo, in tiny writing, as an official part of the name.

i'm cutting down to just bluebeard and DOD (no more DS-1 or el oso) and am liking it that way.
