Well good, I didn't want to have to run another social media page haha.

I'm curious to see what bandcamp has up their sleeves for future social media stuff. It seems like if anyone could step in and take over as the default go to social page for bands, bandcamp could do it.

1st practice last night with new drummer and without guitarist we just booted.

Soooooo much better!!! I love some good ambient drone, but now that the guy who pretty much only did that is gone, the other guitar and keys are so much more audible. Mucho crispo, me gusta.

So how would you guys feel about doing a cover of a song from a band that's still active?

Our guitarist is pushing to do a cover of Electric Wizard's Mourning Prayer. It's from their first album, which is 19 years old now.

I'm against it for a couple of reasons: 1. They're still a current/active band. 2. I met Jus once and he was such an insufferable douchebag that it ruined the band for me. So I have no interest in paying homage to that guy and his band.

So, I am biased but I'd feel the same way about covering another contemporary band.

We're already covering Pentagram - The Ghoul, which kind of negates my first argument, as they're current and touring. 1985 seems a lot older than 1995 though...

Thoughts? Anyone do covers of more modern bands?

5th Child covered Sleep. Planning on doing an older Neurosis song as a cover, eventually, too.

Ugh, late & long class. Anywho, re: Facebook, in my experience it's not a good tool for growing your fanbase but a good way to interact with fans/other musicians met at gigs.

Thats a great video laz, makes me glad I've just ignored that promote crap on Facebook when running the VEGA page, I just post and if anyone sees or likes or engages in our stuff I'm happy, and if not no money or energy lost. Were not going to become famous because of FB. Its just a nice way to keep in touch with some of your fans.

The thing about external links and posting photos isn't surprising, I'll start thinking more about how I post links to our bandcamp and photos. We have gotten a few small reviews that Facebook warns you the external link to the reviews is malicious when clearly its not a malicious site.

Now that I think about it, I don't see a lot of content from bands I like in my news feed, like any of your bands, I have to literally go to their page to stay current. All this is bogus from the fans point of view too. Facebook isnt showing what you like, it shows what makes them money that you like.

hmm. so i'm gonna be splitting out to two amps soon, and i might do it in a classy fashion and use a stereo output from a reverb or a delay. the el capistan is tempting me quite a lot, though i'm starting to really like some reverb sounds. does anyone use one in stereo?

So I stopped smoking weed on December 17th and now I have these freakin weird dreams all night long almost every night. All kinds of trippy ****. The worst is I'm working as a DJ in some club I don't recognize. Sometimes it's a nice place and sometimes it's a dirt floor crap hole. But I never can get the music to play. I'm struggling and struggling and no matter what I do it is just total silence and everybody is looking at me.

Last night I dreamed I was friends with Chanel West Coast, and while I was totally crushing on her she was not interested because we were friends. So I spent the whole night helping her find the dude she was interested in. :scowl:

There have been a lot more but you get the idea. I'm totally brain damaged now that I stopped smoking. I know, start smoking again right? I can't. Thinking of getting out of the club business and I need to be able to pass a drug test.

It's weird going straight but you get used to it.
