I'm assuming that the only way to tell is the lack of battery compartment?
Thats and most active basses are branded "SUB bass" while the the passives say only S.U.B. but it wouldn't be a MM unless the names names were confusing...

she finally made it in, its in mint condition for sure, plastic still on the pickguard..the wife must have made him send it back! lol
Awesome! Are you sure you're not mistaking the thin metal pick guard top surface for a little sheet of packing plastic?
LoL
Just kidding.. Awesome bass! Active or passive? I can't see any angles where there would be the battery compartment cover.

Can I get a number for the club please?
What only 46 takers-wow
Come on out the woodwork.
I wondered how good and how close a SUB was to the supposed real thing.
I played a classic along with my SUB-same amp ,same settings and they sounded the same, only thing was the classic was £2700.
A lot to pay for through body stringing , mutes and clear varnish.Oh and wiggly wood on the neck, will it stay straight over the years?

Whats "wiggly wood"?

Whats "wiggly wood"?
SJ Bass, may I have a number. I am not a biggest SUB fanatic, I prefer my Stingray over my SUB mainly because of the painted neck and I really do think my Stingray sounds slightly better, but I do not own a classic with the 2 band pre amp. I don't want to sand the paint off. I do like the EBMM SUB, but it just sits in my bass rack. I can't find the SBMM SUB club maybe I will start one. They are good basses too with a little work put in to them also fun to play and not really worry about it.
Don't think I want to know!!
I had some LaBella flats on my SUB but just last week strung it up with some old DR Lowriders I pulled off my #1 bass. DANG!! That SUB sounds good!
The neck on mine is sa-WEET! At first I thought it might be too "straight" with not enough relief. But I was wrong! Action and intonation (Maybe because of the compensated nut?) is very easy to dial in. Got it playing like buttah!! Cures my 'Ray GAS for sure.
Did I mention I got it for $300? WITH an original HSC?? Don't hate me.
