S.U.B. Club

Sweet! Follow up question- where can I get a replacement at a reasonable low cost. Thinking something simple. Either white or tortoise style but suggestions welcome. The subject is a black EBMM Sub.

Thanks!:bassist:

Talkbass classifieds, where else?

I'll sell you my diamond plate in the pictures if you want it....

Oh beautiful without the controls plate! Same color as my sub fretless 5 but mines of the more common 2 band classic stingray style.
So the 4th control. .. is that a rotary switch? Or ...

The knob you're talking about is a midrange control - like on the current 'rays and Sterlings, as vdgg's new bass is a SUB Sterling, like mine only fretless(and a cooler color, IMO):

Folks,
Don't flame, please. This is an honest question: As my profile suggests, I'm Canadian and a local retailer sells the SUB 5 String for $330, and the Sterling Ray5 for $710. Can anyone advise why am I paying another $400 for a Sterling? I realize the pecking order is MusicMan StingRay, Sterling (by Musicman) and S.U.B. Sterling in terms of price and I assume MusicMan StingRays are made in the U.S.

Update: Did some research and discovered the answer. Thx.

I think that all SUB Sterlings from that era did not have a control plate, also as georgestrings said it has a 3-band EQ (which is one of the best i ever heard in my opinion) and Pau Ferro fingerboard.
I'm very proud of this bass and also very lucky as it is a very rare SUB. :)

The only question i have is about the nut...does anyone know where i can find a new one? (in Europe)

Yea I know the specs of usa sub sterlings.... but was commenting on how good the design looks withouta control plate compared to by 2 band stingray subs. That sterling is actually quite pretty. .. not something we typically say about usa subs.

Yup - I paid this off today, to go along with the SUB5 and SUB Sterling I already own:

I should have it before next weekend...

I don't like you :p

One day I will too own a black SUB Sterling.

Edit: reading from my phone, I did not realise that one was a Stingray type of SUB.
What colour is your Sterling?
I had a SUB5, but I'm not much of a five string player and eventually I let it go.
I just have two SUBs and a Stingray.
My white SUB is a 2003 with the pickup in series, I love how punchy it gets

Hahaha!!! - I'll be posting pics of all three. once the new one arrives... My SUB Sterling is blue - there are a couple of pics of it a few posts up on this page... I'm definitely keeping my SUB5 - it compared very well to a BFR SR5 HH I used to have - it's that good... I also have an EBMM Sterling 5 HS that I really like... I wired both my SUBs in series - a definite improvement, IMO - I really dig your white SUB, BTW...
