S.U.B. Club

put some audio up when you get a chance, never heard a SUB in a live setting..

Crap. Not sure what happened, but I can't find my recordings. They are not where they should be (according to the Mackie manual) or, for some reason, I messed up and didn't record (even though I followed the instructions to the letter).

I'll try again this weekend.

cool..looking forward to hearing it

Going to try tonight. My only gig this week so I'll change basses between sets.

Assuming I do everything correctly, I'm still not sure how to edit down a whole set recorded with the Mackie 1608/iPad setup?

And yet a-NOTHER USA SUB fs in the classifieds?? What is this, a conspiracy?? I'm trying to save for a new car!!

Ok, the Mackie 1608 record feature is a bit of a trip... Yes it will record your show, BUT... You have to plug your iPad into your laptop and LOOK for the files while synced with your iTunes. Yes, a total PITA. Then you can use GarageBand to edit and cut the files as needed...

Welllll....I recorded the show again. But it does not show up on my laptop. Again. Same thing happened last week.

BUT, I think I've got the shows in the Master Fader app as there is 2.6 GB in the Master fader app to be stored to my iCloud when the next backup happens.

Freakin' annoying.

The file is there. I'm not quite sure exactly where, because it's been so long since I've had to pull them up from my itunes account. I do remember that I had to do some hunting because it was not in a spot where I would normally expect it to be.

I also had to do a firmware update last night, 2 minutes before we were supposed to start our gig! Fortunately, the update didn't take too long...

I know that this is a SUB forum, so let's go ahead and get back to business... I really need to get my sub 5 out and play that sucker again! The problem for me is I have way too many basses in my arsenal, and with the new custom 5 string that I had built for me, I don't get the sub out hardly enough.

Next week for sure! And I'll also record a attack on the Mackie with it!!!

Record with the Mackie and let me know how you get to the files! Very frustrating to do everything the manual says step-by-step multiple times and not get results!!

Right your better of getting a two channel audio card and use something free like garage band to record the audio

First off, sorry to hijack. Not my intention. I'm going to start a thread in the appropriate forum.

BUT, we are talking about recordings of a SUB, no?? :D

I hate to admit it, I really, REALLY do, but I have been enjoying the playability and neck feel of my SUB more than my #1 (which not only plays and sounds terrific but has sentimental "value"). My #1 does have a great tone for my #1 gig (a mostly 70's pop/rock/disco cover band), IMO. Maybe my opinion is wrong, though? These recordings will allow me to A/B the two basses in the mix with everything else (other instruments, levels, etc) being equal. Hence my frustration!!

Hello fellow SUB appreciators: I have this Black 2003 active SUB that I am converting to passive. If there is anyone who wants to trade bodies, your passive for my active including battery box just let me know. The SUB is fairly light one, complete bass weighs 9.25 lb. If anyone has a passive body to trade please send me a PM... Thanks!

Best,
Darren
