Turns out the bass I bought (Thumb NT 5) had been sitting in storage for two years between construction and sale. Three cracks in it, including one in the body from an improperly mounted screw. Warwick was incredibly reluctant to deal with me personally on the matter - despite the fact that their Canadian distributor denied all accountability and even insisted there was nothing wrong with the bass. I had to fight to get Warwick to take the bass back. With the three cracks (and a nut that fell off within the first week of my owning the bass) I made it clear that I expected a replacement and not a patch-up job. Warwick refused to even communicate with me on the matter. No discussion, no "We're sorry you've had to deal with this problem", just a returned bass at my expense. Even a pack of free strings - heck even a free sticker - would have made me feel a bit less bitter about the whole thing, but I was made to feel like Warwick really didn't give a damn.
