Maybe the Cajuns are scared THEY'RE going to be fried up for dinner....

I've been wanting to see a real Sasquatch so bad for decades......but no....it's an endless litany of fake videos, fake footprints, blurry camera work and apparent sightings vocally but no evidence to back them up.

As an X-Files ex-pat "I Want To Believe"................but nothing ever comes up to conclusively support my wish.

When the Coelecanth fish (sp?) was rediscovered....it didn't take them 55 years to get a picture of one.

I like that we still occasionally find critters that are supposed to have been long extinct.

But...

But I think those generally are all from fairly remote regions. Like the Amazon or deep Pacific.

The idea of finding a reasonably large population (enough to be sustainable) of roughly human-sized ape/bear/hominid/things that nobody has managed to get real proof of in the Pacific northwest is a bit hard to take.

Now if the legends were all from a bit further up, say in Alaska, I might buy it a little more. Alaska is HUGE. But it only has about the population of Ft Worth or so. That's a LOT of empty space in which to hide. Around Seattle? Not so much.

Who's phone doesn't have a camera these days? There is a massive ape thing wandering around a heavily populated country and no one has managed a quick snap?

Crypto-zoologists often find species that are thought to be extinct, and new species are found regularly. But they are bugs, or deep sea fish, not giant ape-men.

What scares me more then sasquatch is the fact that 14 of you guys voted "yes". :eyebrow:

What scares me even more is that one (or more) of these individuals may end up on my jury...which is why I'm a law-abiding citizen.

Remember, seasoned trackers follow the scat (poop) of their prey. A few well-documented bigfoot turds would strengthen their claims.

i won't go into detail, but i will share part of my experience. i am part of group that spends a lot of time in the deep, deep forest of central & northern California. there are numerous accounts of contact here as well as in many other oceans of trees.

BF are highly intelligent close relatives to man. now use your imagination. picture a link between the smartest primates on earth, yet remember how really dumb they are compared to us. Sasquatch may actually represent the gap in between us and monkeys/apes. a true scientific mind would allow that possibility! as far as evidence,.. great question! the main reason i believe in Sasquatch is i have been face to face with one. i have also been in the company of several at one time. i might add that while we humans have advanced in the science's,.. BF has evolved spiritually with a heavyness on the paranormal abilities!

i know,... it's okay! i've seen it and i'm still shocked. i also must tell you,... even being several feet from one in broad daylight, i tried to convince myself that somehow a highly evolved primate escaped captivity. i've held my silent for almost twenty years out of respect for these beings. i pray they never are found and exploited.

ps: what they are capable of defies all our reality! they find us to be cute but stupid, IMO/E. :ninja:

So what you are saying is they are smarter, and more highly evolved than we are, but they choose to live primitively in the forest. Call me a short sighted, but I find this very hard to believe.

If we have been living right next door to these creatures for thousands if not millions of years, we would have come across at least a dead body. I have heard people say that they probably bury their dead, but with all the forest we have cleared out to build this glorious concrete jungle we live in, we would have surely dug a skeleton out of the ground by now. So my answer is no, they do not exist, and unless you can show me some concrete evidence there is nothing anyone can say to convince me otherwise, which nobody has ever come up with.

Where was this information found?
I'm giving a rough approximation for the sake of discussion. In actuality Sasquatch is roughly the size of a few misfiring human neurons.
I suppose, but I would assume the number of bears in North America to be much, much higher than that of Sasquatch.
Why would solitary creatures such as bears have a much higher population level than Sasquatch? I would imagine the two would be analogous.
Also, Sasquatch is much more intelligent than an average bear.
"Intelligence" involves heavy parental investment. That's a trait of social creatures -- wolves, humans, primates. Social implies larger numbers. Larger numbers are easier to spot and harder to hide.
How do we know that there is not a burial ground of Sasquatch that we simply haven't discovered (yet)?
I think the dragging of "skunk ape" corpses across the country would be massively inefficient, not to mention a pretty easy way to expose themselves.
Like I said, Sasquatch is intelligent, probably as much so as a standard human being. If it doesn't want to be found, it probably has means to prevent it. It's not like there is constant high-caliber government searches for Sasquatch. I mean, look how long it took us to find Bin Laden, and that was one of the largest military objectives of that time. The government is not going to pour money into finding a creature that may or may not exist, but if they did, I wouldn't expect nil results if the search was conducted over a broad span of time.
We were trying to find one human who looks similar to many humans. Finding a Sasquatch in Pakistan would be much, much easier.
Who's to say the population is too small to be self-sustaining?
They have to find each other frequently enough to reproduce.
You have no more concrete evidence than do the community of those who believe Sasquatch is real, so I do not believe you are in liberty to assert such a factual statement.
I cannot disprove the non-existence of something, that's true, but I reference your argument to my friend:

The Flying Spaghetti Monster

@Unrepresented

To each his own beliefs, as well as his own logic. I cannot prove existence, this is fact. I chose not to refute it, which is my personal belief.

p.s. While we all believe flying spaghetti monster is not real, again, who's to say? Unanimous consensus and fact are different things.

@Hopkins,... i know it sounds incredible and without proof means nil to the majority. i'm nobodies expert either, sooooo what this boils down to is a selfish attempt to get this off of my chest! i don't want you to believe me on one hand, but i certainly don't mind if you do. there's people claiming amazing things that have come to pass. imagine keeping a harmless secret for twenty years!
as far as intelligence,.. in their habitat, yes, they are way smarter than us, IMHO! they are certainly smart enough to avoid detection. and please take a real hard and long look at a topographical map of North America!!!
you cannot find a needle in this hay-stack, especially a needle with a brain!;)

you know, guys...., this was hard to do and i thank everyone for indulging me. not here to convince anyone really. maybe incite some questions for you to ask yourself, "what's really out there.

The only glimmer of hope I would admit to is that there are new species discovered - not every day - from time to time in the ocean or jungle. Granted, these are often very small, ilk bugs and stuff, but they are new and never seen before.

Still don't think it'll happen with a large primate.

My logic is that living things follow certain rules. They leave behind evidence of their past, present, and future states. I nerd out a bit on paleontology (I have trilobites tattooed on my arm) and while we don't have a complete fossil record for every animal ever, we don't have any fossil record for any large hominids in North America until modern humans (large hominids) arrived. Sasquatch had to come from somewhere, and the fossil record doesn't indicate that any ancestry was here that was similar or could have evolved into it.

Living silently and covering your tracks for a few decades is one thing, but successfully hiding millions of years of fossil history of both yourself and all ancestry in anticipation of the eventual invasion of human scientists from another continent millions of years later is beyond my ability to rationally accept.;)

do you realise in this past century a new species of mountain gorilla was discovered in Africa! also, more than a few unknown indigenous tribes of humans have been found in South America. there is a little fact that in Thailand is a tribe of black people with bushy hair thriving in the most dense regions of the jungle. if you don't know they're there, what & where do you search for?!!
who would think we would still be finding people, let alone intelligent primates the present! and yes, the latest ape found in Africa is said to be "scary smart"! so therefore, not much data thus far,.. why,.. because they are damn near impossible to track. look it up,.. the forensic's are available.

i don't always agree with Unrepresented ,
but when i do , it's about Sasquatch ...
:D

New species are discovered all the time in jungles and other remote areas where humans don't often roam, but not bipedal primates with apparent mystical powers that would have to have been evolving alongside homo sapiens for the last several hundred thousand years, going unnoticed in the pacific northwest. No Sir.
