Here it is, my new pkgrd from Precision Guitar in AZ on the left. Will install later and post another photo.

I received my SS Sterling project Bass today. It was not suppose to be here til Monday but when I checked tracking this morning it was on the truck for delivery :hyper:. Fit and finish is great, the neck looks good and I am glad that the Rosewood is dark on this one. Just a little minor tweeking to the truss and slight bridge adjustment and its all good. It weighs exactly 8lbs. I like the way this neck feels also. I have a set of Hipshot 1/2" Nickel Ultralite Clovers and a Nordstrand MM pickup 70's winding on the way. Got a few other cosmetic mods planned but this is a great feeling Bass out of the box. I also opened up the control cavity and took the pickguard off to take a look at whats under everything and as @pcake requested

Tonight I took the neck off the bass and removed the tuners to prep it for the Hipshot ultralights coming tomorrow and I also removed the knobs and weighed both the tuners and the knobs together and they were exactly 1lb. Interesting info I thought
When I took the neck off there was some debris and a left over piece of masking tape in the neck pocket so I am glad I took the neck off so I can clean that up.

Thought I would post some of the progress I made with my SS mods today  I filled the screw holes left from the original tuners and I had just enough Luminlay side dot material left over from other projects so I decided to add that to the neck today also. I used a pen/hand drill with a 2mm bit and drilled out the old side dot material then glued in the Luminlay cut and sanded smooth. Turned out good. I'm going to install the Hipshot tuners tomorrow :D

Does anyone have both SBMM and EBMM Stingray shorty’s? Curious, did you feel a difference in the way the bass felt or tonality between the two? I did not see a search for this form so I entered the keywords SBMM Stingray Short Scale followed by EBMM in the main search and nothing came up.

After looking at the screw holes and the cavity on your "white" guitar, it appears that it was originally painted daphne blue. I didn't know if anyone had caught that.

Earlier in this thread Joe Nerve has both and did a write-up about the differences between the two.

I think you are absolutely correct Doc! Here is the neck pocket. Its weird that they would do that though...Very interesting indeed.
