Not sure if the string spacing question was answered on the Omen Elite 5, so I thought I would put some real world spec’s up here since I own one. 35” Scale, this one is 8.6 pounds on a digital scale. Neck width at the nut is about 1.790, at the 12th fret 2.375. Neck thickness at the nut is around .780, .870 at the 12th fret. String spacing at the bridge is about .710. These measurements are in inches. I’m just going to throw up a comment or two here, please do not look at this like some kind of review, you can get those online. I probably have 15+ Schecter Basses, and a big fan for sure. However from past Chemo treatments I also have a significant Neuropathy or numbness in the hands, so I can’t crank it down like you guys can, I need a thicker neck. Had to go back to things like 004’s etc, which are more rounded. There is a gloss finish on this one, but the back of the neck is satin. Sharp looking Bass. Fit and finish is top notch. Not sure wether I will be keeping it or not, but if it was a keeper, I would at some point look at replacing the bridge with something that allows a top load or string through option. Recently added a CV-5 to the herd. Put some flats on it and it's pretty much exactly the sound that I was looking for.
Any recommendations for a good replacement nut, preferably pre slotted and ready to drop in for my Diamond Custom 5?
I really like the Graphtec Black Tusk XL nuts. I'm not sure if you can get them preslotted in the dimensions you would need for your bass, though.
I believe in recent years the factory has been using the Tusq nuts. Amazon has them, and many other materials. Some of the imports are listed in mm, you may have to convert to inches depending on you measuring equipment. There are a good amount of online video’s on “Guitar Nut Removal” available for free. EASY does it here. I recently did a Bone nut replacement on a T-Bird. The replacement part was fine but too thick for the groove . .195 vs .180, so if you need to thin out something like this, attach the nut to a small block of wood with good double sided tape. Measure carefully as you go, and you may have to clean file dust and re do the tape at some point. Take your time. Pictures are shown just as an example.

Received a CV-5 from Sweetwater about 4 weeks ago. Great bass, very playable, I like the passive control scheme they installed.
However, I was tuning today and the G-string tuner broke.:
I've just contacted Sweetwater for suggestions. Depending on their answer, I'll then contact Schecter. I don't expect anything easy or useful from either of 'em, but we'll see. Schecter already has a strike against it. They answered my first email very quickly. A second one, sent 18 Sept, concerning some specifics on the circuitry hasn't been answered yet.
I got rid of the packing boxes due to prepping for Hurricane Ian. If they expect me to jump thru hoops to send it somewhere, I don't play that game.
So, if any of you have suggestions for new tuners to replace their "Schecter Light-Weight" tuners (name from the spec sheet), I'd appreciate it.
If no good answers all around, then I strip it of the circuit and controls and the carcass goes to the dumpster. I've done it before, it's how I deal with subpar/defective stuff that's right out of the box. Will just buy another brand bass.
Anyway, any help on tuner replacement suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks. I ordered one of these. I'll take the old one off as carefully as I can in case I need to save it and take my time getting the new one set.
I had an issue with my active eq grounding out and draining batteries. It took me a little bit, but a connection was being made against the cavity wall creating this issue. One piece of electrical tape later and I was good to go. Prior to discovering the issue I sent an email and then called Schecter. I actually can't imagine them being any more helpful. They sent me a new preamp and walked me through the process of hooking it up. I've spoken to them a couple of times, both times they were as helpful as could be asked of them. Give them a call, it can't hurt.
I have over 15 Schecter Basses. There can always be an issue if somebody had a bad day, or it’s just a lousy design, factory wise. Whatever this style of tuner is, it’s a bad idea. If you like everything else about the Bass except for this, replace the tuners. Remove the old one, measure the hole diameter, see what Stew-Mac has at reasonable cost. Schecter stuff is most likely Metric sizes. So choose accordingly. Just some advice.
I was less concerned about it breaking than how Sweetwater and Schecter will handle it. Still in Return Policy and Guarantee time frame, so I won't even take the broken tuner out yet to measure anything. Leaving the bass as-is for now.
Haven't contacted Schecter yet, but my Sweetwater guy got their support team on it quite quickly. We'll see what happens.
Just started looking around at tuners today in case things go south with support efforts.
Seems to me they would've made the baseplate/wormgear cover from metal. That non-metal material they used just seems less robust. Weight savings, I suppose. Even if the support folk come thru with a remedy for me, I may change the tuners anyway. All metal tuners in case I play all metal music again LOL
Are all of your Schecter tuners like mine with the non-metal baseplate/gear cover?

Thank you. According to the serial number date code, mine was made in 2021. Probably one of those minor changes the manufacturer reserves the right to do.
I've a question for anyone who's changed their tuners to a different brand. I'm a newbie to a tuner change (after 40+ years of playing LOL). What do I need to be aware of when buying a different brand of tuners?
I'm like a newbie that changes a pot for the first time, but doesn't realize there are various sizes, various thread lengths, shaft styles and lengths, etc, and orders the wrong one. I'd like to avoid the newbie mistakes regarding tuners LOL.
Measure post hole diameter, as @Gibson Victory mentioned. I would think headstock thickness should be measured, too? What other factors should I consider that might trip me up?
Any of your time with the newbie is appreciated.
