I've recently become a Schecter convert. A couple of months back I picked up a Stiletto Extreme 4. I liked it so much that last week I picked up a Stiletto Custom 4. I really enjoy both of them.

So after playing this bass for about 2 hours tonight I can honestly say it’s a great bass.
Lighter than my Sadowsky with almost the same fret job quality.
The sound is pure Stingray, which is awesome and a good thing.
Does anybody know the story about these Sam Bettley bssses?
Well built, amazing sound and something completely different with the blood red veins throughout the ash body.
I feel for $200 bucks, I stole it.

Found a DP12 in Falls Church just before the holiday and cut the bridge to King Crimson's "Red" with it. So brutal... so awesome! The strings it came with had to be at least 2 years old (or maybe it just sat in the shipping container too long) but were good enough to track. It has the usual neck-heavy thing all 12-string basses have but I don't mean to strap it on anyway. Just meant to be a fun studio toy. And it's definately fun! Once new strings arrive, I'll get it more dialed in but it's pretty close already. Double truss rods always make me nervous but we got along better than I thought. A surprisingly adjustable neck - very responsive to tweaks, which I like.

Here's an example of why I totally disagree with people who don't think EMG HZ pickups are "real" EMGs. This audio clip is a rough, basement recording of riff writing from my original band. It features one of my Stiletto Studio 5s, with the on-board eq flat, stock EB Slinky strings, and a Hartke KB12 combo...that's it.

I was going to get a new Stiletto Extreme but I saw this one used on GC's site for $429. There was only one blurry pictures of it but I took a gamble anyway. Will clean and set it up anyway.

Not a great picture but I wanted to upload a pic of my Raiden Special-4. July will be 9 years that I’ve had this beauty. I play my SBMM Ray5 more often but I recently gave the Raiden a setup, microfiber wipe down and hydrated the fretboard and it feels and sounds incredible. I adjusted the truss rod and I can’t believe how straight the neck is now. It’s wearing some old Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats and it just sounds and feels so, so good.
How do you like the pickups on it? It has coil taps, right? Is it versatile?

I love my Stilettos. I change out the hardware as well. Songwriter21, what bridges do you use? I’ll try to take daylight photos tomorrow.
Over the years, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the pickups. I think this bass is very picky about string selection. I’ve also found it to be pretty noisy in single coil mode, and it still has some noise in humbucker mode.
The pickups are incredibly hot; so much so that I was clipping the livestream audio the last time I played it at church. The controls are Volume/Volume/Tone and the tone knob is a push-pull knob for humbucker or single coil selection (pull up for both in single coil mode, push down for both in humbucker mode). This gives the bass an incredibly versatile palette of tones.
I’ve never been left wanting for a tone out of it. It is definitely very versatile. Overall, I do love this bass and I have no intention to part ways with it.

I've found that the Schaller 3D roller bridge does the trick. Granted, because of the different geometry, you need to move the roller spacers all the way to left, so the G is as far from the edge of the fretboard as possible to prevent slipping off. The big beauty part, is that you can get action literally on the frets if you want. That's not possible with the stock bridge.
