Oh well, the output is pretty low without the EQ. I have been running the bass on full and treble at about 3/4 so far, and it's sounding great so far.

I seem to have a thing for the filter sound. My next planned pedal is either a BSY-600 or a SYB-5.

Reminding existing members that we'd like to see pics of your bass(es), and maybe a short bio on it/them, especially if they're modded or uncommon. I'll get my 004 up in a day or so (already did my Stiletto a couple of pages ago). This isn't mandatory and you won't be blackballed if you don't, but since we now have hit 350 peeps here, it'd be cool to see who has what, especially for peeps who came in early (like me).

Bought mine with taxes in February, after tons and tons of research, only having a $400 budget because I needed an amp too. I was about to walk out the door to pick up an Ltd 205 spalted maple, when I came across the craigslist ad for my studio 5, with hard case for $350. It sounded to me like a no brainer(after reading other things on here I'm not sure?) But I picked it up I love it, had a minor ding behind the head stock and the gold hardware is kinda wearing off. But I couldn't be happier with the sound and feel and quality. What do you think?

good score. my studio 5 played well and felt good but the aesthetics and tone just weren't for me. good bass otherwise.
She's a Stiletto Extreme 4 with the black cherry finish. Those Mother of Pearl inlays are to die for!

Year - the first two digits in the serial number should be the year of manufacture.
Active/passive - I don't know this for a fact, but I'd guess that the active pre/passive pups is to maximize build options vs not having to buy a LOT of different bits 'o electronics. Think mix & match.
