Schecter Owners Club, part 3

SIT Silencers. I go for an old school Thump and P Bass / Upright bass in most of my projects, current modern country group I'm working with requires the five string and runs the gamut of tones, I can get most with the stelleto / eq and these strings, plus they're cheap as dirt

Yeah, I know the feeling. The Roto flats on my Staageizahh are already somewhat dead. :hmm:

Well, at least the G string. Sounds a bit... thuddy compared to the rest of the set. But oh well, back to either Fender flats or Chromes after this set, paying 35-40€ for one Roto set is a bit steep IMO, especially when they lose their brilliance so quickly.

I'm actually not sure what strings are on my SE. They have red yarn on the ends, if that helps? :hiding: They also sound bright and full, but I suppose anything would sound like that compared to the 15+ year old strings that are on Black Sunshine :rolleyes:

No problem! I may be using my schecter as a main bass more and trying to figure out what I wanna try on it. Has anyone tried chromes? I have a set on my precision and love em, just don't know how they would sound on it. I love a precision tone BTW.

Haven't tried actual Chromes, but I have had Fender flats on as an experiment (can't recall the model # offhand, but they're the new version that came out a couple of years ago)...a lot of folks here were speculating whether they were/are actually re-branded Chromes. They were OK tonewise, but nothing spectacular IMO...then again, I wasn't after the classic warm, flat thump either.

I have seen a lot of people in this club talking about the Diamond P Custom with the P pickup and the bridge humbucker. Now that it has been out for a while, can anyone tell me what the prevailing opinion on it is? It looks really cool, but there have been some mixed reviews, and I don't really like thin necks.

The neck is actually kind of beefy...Its just about 19mm wide in the spacing with a full C profile.

How the hell am I not a member?

Here is my team:
* A Honey Sunburst Stilleto Elite 5, with a Bartolini HR-5.2 preamp and a couple of Bartolini CF5CBC soupbars (and that sweet S-Tek bridge they don't make anymore...);
* A Dark Metallic Blue Diamond-P Custom-4, all stock, and I wouldn't want to change anything;
* A Gloss Black Model-T which I got in a really bad shape and was a restoration project, so I've pimped it up with a hand painted pickguard and a bridge cover.

I love my babies.

Can I get a number :)?
