I have a Schecter Diamond J Bass and Ultra VI that I got a sweet deal on both. They're some of the nicest instruments with the best action I've played on in over 20 years, so far. Here's some pics of each (which I did post elsewhere, but since this is a club I'll do it here, too.) So could I join?
Here's my Model-T I picked up used at a Guitar Center for $300. Whoever had this bass before me took good care of it and hardly ever used it. I'm really impressed by the tones you can get out of this thing, especially for the price. It plays a lot nicer than many of the Squiers I was trying out...

That's about what I paid for my Diamond J that was on clearance at American Musical Supply and listed as a "scratch and dent." Nothing wrong with it other than the box was opened and a little banged up. The bass was mint. I'm sad that they have decided to discontinue the model, in case I ever wanted to get another one. They still have some on the Schecter site in their clearance section, since you can now buy from them direct. The Model T was another model I had my eye on, by the way. That and their P Bass model, which they also dropped.

Beefed things up a bit. Nothing wrong with the original tuners and I liked the worn out look. But these warwicks hold it down! Added a hipshot and strap locks too. I originally had then on my Ibanez, but I'm selling it. Schecter wins. I can't stand the sounds of the ibanez after playing my dark demon.
Anybody here want to sell a diamond p or model t? I've been gassing for both but neither comes up used very often. I had a stiletto extreme 5 a few years back when I first started playing and I've been a schecter fan ever since.

I almost got one of those, but got the Ultra VI, instead. I found one for pretty cheap, so I couldn't pass that up. I'd still like to get one of those, to add to the collection, someday.they should make a hellcat that looks like this

Thanks. I never really considered Schecter when looking for basses, but that one just happened to be at the GC I was at. After playing it for awhile I was convinced it was the bass for me. The tone, the action, and the look are all right up my alley. If I do end up modifying it, I'll probably put a hotter J-bass pickup in there.'
That Shecter Hellcat is sweet. I have an Agile baritone just like it. Considering selling it if anyone is interested.
Yeah, I got mine because I was looking for a bass with at least 21 frets (I needed that high "e" for an outro riff for a song I play, and I didn't want to change it to compensate) when I needed to retire my Fender P Bass Lyte that was my main bass (it needs some work done to it,) and the price was right. I wish I tried them out a long time ago, that's for sure. I do have an Ibanez CT series bass I could have used (have on a few occasions) but that also needs work. They both have shorts in the electronics, which can be a huge pain in the arse, especially if you are trying to record something. Nothing like getting a good take and all of the sudden it crackles and farts out during it.

Thanks to the good info I received here I now have a blue diamond p headed my way. 
I found a few used, but after seeing I could buy brand new direct from schecter for $369 I went ahead and spent thefew extra dollars. Can't wait to get her.

Ya, what Paul said! I said this was my last one after each of the last 3 I've bought! My wife is starting to lose some of her understanding of a "deal too good to pass up"! (although in all fairness she did buy the next to the last one for me for Christmas! I do love that woman!!!!)
