Looked a the old Schecter catalogs, they had the CV-4 in 2004/2005/2006, the one I bought is a 2006.
The J/MM Duncan Designed pick-up pair was what they had all three years.
The tone circuit was Duncan design all three years also.
They had the "slap" switch all three years.
The headstock was a 1X4 Fender-ish shape for 2004, then changed to a 2X2 tuner arrangement in 2005 and 2006, but the headstock shape was very different from 2005 to 2006.
2004 had a tobacco sunburst finish on the alder body.
2005 had opaque paint jobs over alder.
2006 also had and alder body with a maple top for the black cherry finish or a lacewood top for the amber finish.
Grover tuners and a Hipshot bridge all three years.
In 2007 they had a C4 model with the EMG soap bar pick-up pair, instead of the J/MM Duncan set up on the CV-4.
Seems Schecter made a deal with EMG and went that way with almost everything, excepting the Jazz Model and Model T basses still got Duncans.
Looks like they went back to a J/MM pick-up set with the Stargazers in 2010 but they were EMG not Duncan Design.
Currently the C4 deluxe has a J/MM pick-up pair but they are Schecter diamond pick-ups.
So....I still don't have a Youtube sound sample to hear what the J/MM Duncan designed pair sounds like.....hope they sound good.
A J/MM pick-up pairing has been used on Peavey's, Lakland, MusicMann, Warwick and few others, I think.
Don't give me a number yet, after the bass shows up I can decide if it is a keeper or not, if the pick-ups are good I think I'll be very happy.
