Schecter Owners Club, part 3

Maybe this has already been posted in this lengthy thread, but I was bouncing around the internet today checking out all things Schecter and stumbled across a site that had sold a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] that looked fantastic.

I guess it never came to fruition in mass production, but wow, what a beautiful instrument!

From the looks of it, it appears to be a 7-piece neck of Wenge & Padauk, Maple top over Swamp Ash body, with what looks like an Ebony fretboard.

Headstock seems to indicate "Exotic" series?

Whatever it is, if it ever does hit production one day - I must have it! drool

Okay.... I hate starting a new post for this, so I figured I would ask here. I bought a Schecter Guitar about 6 months ago that I absolutely adore (C7 FR SLS Elite). I’m now looking for a fretted bass to add to the arsenal. I am looking at Schecter because, well, why not?

I thought I had it figured out and I was ready order a T Session. Then I looked at the new CV series and now I can’t decide. Ugh. Please help me.

I just ordered the Model T Session. I really liked what I could find on the CV, but, in the end, I realized that I truly want that Jazz Pickup in the Bridge Position. I’ll post pics and a quick initial response shortly after it arrives. Cheers.

Hi. Sorry to bother everyone. I am now ready to upgrade my bass. And I am looking at 3 schecter basses. Information that I found is not enough to make a $400 dollars decision. Can someone give their idea?
1. Schecter Omen Extreme. Mahogany with Maple Cap (not veneer, but CUP, does it actually make any difference in sound and tone???). 6 bolts, stock bridge, Schecter P/U.
2. Schecter Stiletto Extreme. Mahogany with veneer. Schecter P/U
3. Used Schecter C4. Mahogany with maple Cap (or veneer not sure), and EMG HZ pickups, same pickups that they put on upper end basses... Which would you all suggest?

Also, what is your opinion on Schecter DLX4. I have a chance to purchase one for 350. Brand new with full warranty (new old stock). It is not mahogany, it is basswood, and also has basic bridge and schecter pickups...
But I do have a set of DiMarsio P/J pickups laying around which I bought few months ago...

They're pretty different basses. Have you tried any of them to at least be sure that's the kind of sound you want and that the neck is to your liking etc?

Hey, I got my Model T completely on a whim without having even seen one in the flesh, as they're pretty rare here... and I got lucky. Very lucky. But it's better when you don't rely completely on luck. For instance, I don't like thin necks, so with a bit of extra info I could discard certain models, like the Stiletto... which I think looks amazing and I know someone who plays one locally so I can confirm it sounds great (in a ska band), but the neck is too thin for me. Do you have any clear preferences?
Hmm... actually, I think all the ones you've indicated have 38mm nuts and thin profiles. So I guess you've already done your homework there and that's the kind of neck you like.

Welcome, your not bothering nobody here, we love to try and help and sometime confuse our fellow Bass Players.
I have never had my hands on any of those models.

The only DLX-4 w/ a P/J Set I'm finding anything on is a Raiden DLX-4 . The one I've found has a 1 5/8" (41 to 42 mm) width at the nut, bolt on(6 bolts) Diamond Series Made in N. Korea. I'm biased because I love the P Pickup. If it's actually new like the one pictured here, that sounds like a fair deal to me.

I never owned a Schecter, but I messed around with one at guitar center once. This thing was natural wood colored and it was, without a doubt, the lightest bass I ever played. Probably half the weight of my bass. Full disclosure: My regular bass is a Gibson RD Artist from the early eighties and it might weigh more than my motorcycle.

Might be getting another Model T,if the trade goes through? Sold this one locally couple years ago. Been told this was a Robert DeLeo prototype model? Translucent Mary Kaye finish,in real decent shape. Pictures are the previous ones I had when I advertised it before. Always liked the Model T's,but usually had to let some go? Hopefully the trade will go through?

Yeah when I get the first one I will decide if I like the monster tones and if not will replace with Seymour duncan quarter pounders.
