I'm not quite sure what your point is Phat. I think i missed something in how you arrived at this question?
I was curious why the 1210 cab has the 12" firing front with the 10" firing at a dispersion angle, as it seemed to me the reverse (10" front/12" dispersion) made more sense.

Jorg gave me an explanation that seemed to justify it, yet seemed to contradict the fact that the 21012 cab does have the 10"s front firing and the 12" at the dispersion firing angle.

I know we're dealing with a 3 driver cab vs. a 2 driver, yet the theory (in fact it wasn't even a theory, just: "it sounded better") given for jusifying one cab seems to contradict the other.

Of course, without an A/B test with the four configurations (i.e. 12/10, 10/12, 12&12/10, 10&10/12) I'll never know for sure anyways.

To borrow from Brad Johnson:
"As always, I could be wrong".:p ;)

Official spec sensitivity for those interested. Will be on the site shortly.

410: 103db SPL @ 1W/1M

Hi Brian, I have been reading his thread with great excitement. Can't wait to check out the Shroeder cabs.

I checked out the website and noticed there are no descriptions of what the speaker configurations are. E.g. it's not clear to those who might not know that a 21012 is a "2x10 and 1x12." Some cabinet model numbers are clear while others aren't quite as obvious. It would be helpful to illustrate each speaker cabinet so someone can see the configuration and note the differences.

Have the handles been changed to the resessed variety such as those found on most other pro cabs like Bergies etc? Thanks and best success to Jorg. Anticipating one or two of these in my future based on all that I see. - Gary

Yes the handles were changed out after the first batch of 6 or 7 cabs where made. Since all have had the new resessed handles.

The link James posted has been up. Its just at the bottom of the page and can be easily missed.

Thanks
Brian

when ever I get them or Jorge. Although, I still am not sure how thats going to tell you how they sound........

Maybe Jorge knows something........
Well you're not physically able to hear them, you make a call based on reviews and specs. I've often painted a picture in my head of a cab's sound based on specs, then trialed it for myself to find out I was on the right track. I'm right more often than I'm wrong on this.

Personally I put more emphasis on certain specs than others and the ones I really like are Efficiency, and the -3dB point. I also like to see -10dB point, a frequency response graph, and cabinet tuning frequency, but most manufacturers don't publish these because it can often reveal things about the design and performance the manufacturer would prefer to keep secret. They don't realise all this stuff is easily measured. All you need is a cab owner to agree to it, and I've never had anyone say no. They're usually too curious themselves.

Don't forget Brian, these cabs appear to defy the laws of physics. Loud, low, and small? Usually you can pick 2 and sacrifice the third. If this is the case, then Jorg may well have achieved every other speaker manufacturer in history has strived for but have only managed progress in baby steps. Personally I hope he indeed has. We know they're small; those efficiency specs indicate they're loud; to the casual observer it would seem that the obvious sacrifice here would be in the low end. Could the angled-speaker-semi-horn have overcome that? The reviews tell me there's enough bottom end there, but reviews are just opinions and opinions vary from person to person. A dB meter is less subjective.

Just back from the jam room. I finally had a chance to try the 1210 with my new Sansamp RBI and PLX 1602. We haven't been able to practice in over two weeks because members were out of town and I'm coaching my kid's All Star baseball team so time has been a premium lately.

I didn't have time to jack with the speakon cable for bridged use so I just ran off one side of the PLX. I have to start by saying, "WOW!!" Bass, mids, highs; everything right where I wanted it. Then I A/B'd with the GK 700RB with 210RBH then 115RBH....not even in the same league. No comparison.

I know I'm kinda comparing apples and oranges here since I introduced a preamp and power amp to muddy the waters but when comparing the RBI/PLX/Schroeder rig to the GK 700RB/210RBH/115RBH rig there's no comparison. Plus the Schroeder rig is less than half the size and weight.

This is one purchase I am very happy with.

Petebass, I understand your concern and sorry that I have nothing to offer. But as mentioned, many specs aren't shown for different reason's on other cabinet builders sites and there might be a number of specs Jorge desires to keep to him self. If your not interested in buying one or finding one that someone has to check out then I'm sorry if the specs don't popup for you. I really wish I could help, but that’s his choice.

I don't see many other builder's posting their roll-off specs either.

Wasn't sure where that post was going from the start, but I'm glad things worked out in the end. Thats what counts!

You're right, most don't. Why should we as consumers be happy with that? Our whole point is "Please post meaningful specs instead of the usual jibber-jabba". If that's too hard, then fine, I'll assume you've got something to hide. How do you know I'm not interested in buying one? I'm certainly not even going to tink about it if doing so means importing it myself unheard and with no meaningful specs to go by.

This is from the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]for their 410 xlt
"Frequency Response - +/- 2db 50hz to 13khz -6db @ 31hz".

Looks like rolloff info to me. As a 5 string player I read that and think "Eden have taken the time to let the 5+ strings player know well the cab can handle a low B. Koudos to them".

Jorg?

A German company called TECHSOUNSYSTEMS went with this exact set-up a few years back in both a cabinet and a compact 2x12 combo amp called the PEPMAN 400. They have since discontinued the line (They may offer somthing similar in their current line however, I don't know).

I have the combo which includes a piezo tweeter (crossover, Speakons, 1/4, and tweeter attenuator).
It came with a 2 space rack mount amp and a single open space above that. I put my Eden head and tuner in it. It was great before, now it's AWSOME, nice to look at too.
There was a cab for sale a couple of months ago here on TB. Go snag it!!

There's nothing to hide, nothing at all. Our main attention was focusing on the summer NAMM to introduce the Schroeders. Nobody expected that this cabinet line would create such a huge discussion. We are still in certain organizatorial development stages. All I can say...........please be patient, things will be completed soon.

Thanks everyone.

Sincerely,

Jorg

On a positive note, as much discussion as these cabinets have generated on this forum can only hint at the tremendous "buzz" that will be generated once the existence of these cabs becomes more widely known!

Hang on Jorg! Things might get real hectic real soon! :D
