At a minimum KJung and I both gig regular with Thunderfunk and 1210. It's a really great combination. Start reading backwards, and doing more focused searches with the advanced search tool function.
I believe both vendors offer "you don't like it send it back" options when you buy direct, so if you ordered from both at the same time, and ended up being part of the 1% that doesn't like either of these, you'd only be out shipping. Both vendors are awesome gusy, and really great to work with.

My manual says the deep switch is defeated when the EQ is bypassed. I have confirmed this in use. Only the Emphasis and Bright switch have effect when the EQ is bypassed.

Oh, and I still want a pair of Mini 12+!

i havent heard much of anything about the 1010 .

(Is it the same as the 210 that someone posted about a few hundred posts back? )

i dont play a 5 string, and only tune down to low c once in a while. I play mostly classic rock (beatles, zep, grand funk) with 20% 80's-today pop thrown in.

I would love to downsize and get one cab to do the trick. Size matters. Does the 1010 have a smaller box size than 1210, does it have the same low end? is it not as potentialy loud, or is it not as potentially low? any and ALL comparison between the 1210 and 1010 would be appreciated. :confused:

ABout my uses & gear-

we play mostly small bars, with the occassional large gig supported by PA> I complete with a keyboard player who has restraint, a guitar player through a fender twin who is deaf, and a drummer who is aggressive. It isnt ear shattering.


I currently use a hartke 5000, 180 (8ohm) watts into a hartke 115xl and, if needed in a big place or outside, the other side into an EVM 1x15 250 watts 4 ohms.

I play outside a few times a year, and this setup has been adequate.

I would like to dump these cabs ( they are 24x24x15 and 26x17x18) and get one to cover them both. I was thinking a QUALITY 1x12, and the shroeder thread got my attention.

Thoughts? is 250 watts going to be too light? seems not so far from the posts.

According to the Schroeder site....there are NO 1010's anymore. I don't see it listed for sale.
I am not sure when it was taken off the site.
Give Jorge a call for more info.
BTW,
I play much of the same musically as you and your band and my 1210 really delivers the goods, at least for me anyway.
I use a Walter Woods Ultra High Power with the 1210 and recently got a Sadowsky PJ NYC Vintage 4 string.
This setup is punchy and powerful enought to knock out Mike Tyson in his prime. :):):)

I gig'd a blues/jazz/r&b job last night with drums, piano, sax guitar and bass, big 500 person club. Took my G&L 2500, Thunderfunk TFB420, and 1210. Holy cow, what a deadly combo. I had the TFB input on 3, master volume on 3, and eq set flat save for rolling the timbre knob to the left two clicks. Big, fat, clean, punchy. B-string reproduced accurately and cleanly while being able to riffle your jeans...awesome.
This combo also works exceptionally well for Double Bass-I played the first two sets that way;)

How heavy is that 310212? Is it awkward to lug around? I have one on order, but can't seem to get a definative answer on the weight (even from Jorg!) I've heard it's around 100 lbs. but no hard specs have been posted. Man, I can't wait to get that cab! No more 8x10 for me!!!! How do you like the sound of it? Maybe you could do some kind of review for us? If you have the time, I mean! There aren't a whole lot of posts about the 310212 on here...mostly the smaller cabs.

OK...Quick update...Last night was the first gig in a couple of weeks...since I last posted in this thread about my 1212 not sounding right. (We took a few week hiatus from giging due to my work schedule)

Several people posted that they thought maybe it was bad power...and Jorg emailed me saying that if it was a speaker problem that he'd take care of it (for the record yet again, Jorg has gone above and beyond already).

Anyway, it does appear to have been bad power at the previous gig, and there is no apparent lasting damage to any of my gear.

Last night we played an event in lovely Ithaca NY, and had our 'extended' band/family show up. This meant we had bass, drums,keys, hand percussion, congas, etc., plus 4 vocal mics. The vocalists were all Jamaican yardie/dreads who sang inna variety of styles and our usual female soul/r&B vocalist. All in all, we had 9 people on stage, not including the drunken college girls.

To hear this chaos, we ran an 8 channel board with 1000w out front into 15's and horns and 4 monitors w/2 mixes on stage, guitar and all non kit percussion were in the PA. I ran my 1212/400+ rig with no support out front and pushed the lows pretty seriously as the Jamaican posse demands some heavy bottom end. I ran riddim all night long without ANY difficulty. The 1212 stayed clean & low, the 400+ didn't break a sweat (I turned down several times, even) and the crowd kept dancin' all nite!

Are there any 410 owners in LA who might want to swap for a 21012? My tastes have decided to pull a big old u-turn on me, and I think the 410 is probably a much better fit for what I want to hear right now. Please let me know via PM or email. Danke.

Lo Freq - Very nice. I wish I could try a Dem pre out, from soundclips and bassists I admire using them, i'm sure they'd sound sweet with a Schroe.

Crock - Most guys prefer to leave them how they were designed. Though some people will turn them up on end if the stage is REALLY boomy or they need the room.

Nemo - Very cool. I'm thinking about just getting a 1210 for my next cab instead of the 410, because i'm never going to need a 410 + 1212 combo i don't think!

Thanks, again, to all of you fellow TB'ers who took the time to answer a few of my questions about this cab.

I bought it to use at my really small dinner-time gigs instead of my 1210 and to combine the two to ues on the other end of the scale.

FedX delivered just in time for me to unpack it, play a few notes to make sure that they hadn't trashed it and make a 5:30pm set-up to play with a tasteful blues guitar at a regular gig. I found that the Mini has less punch (no 10" speaker) and just as much low-end as the 1210 with great full range tone.

The next day, I loaded up the two cabs and went to Denver to play for a corporate picnic with my regular acoustic trio.

My plan was to A/B the two cabs at moderate vol levels in order to satisfy my own curiosity and be able to give any advice to future Mini owners. I was SO thrilled with the sound that I just left the iAmp plugged into both and enjoyed two full hours of glorius, round, punchy, clear bass tone!!!

They even paid us quite well to do this!!!

As a side note; I am moving to the Grand Junction, CO area at the end of the month and I will be looking for some musical contacts there. If anyone can help me out, I would certainly appreciate it!
