I'd love to hear what you come with on that!

I like you, went from an HT322 to the Schroe 410, but my decision wasn't based on lack of volume as I have 1600W to abuse...![]()

I understand why the MegaPulse 600 didn't drive the HT322 really well.Larry Kaye said:...
Doesn't mean that more wattage wouldn't make for even a better tone or maybe kick in the jet stream sooner?, but, although I'm not necessarily a Mesa fan, I can't understand why the 600 Pulse couldn't adequately push your Bergie or a Schroeder. Mesa doesn't tend to overrate their power/wattage, and if my "underrated" Focus is tres loud, I can't understand why your Mesa wouldn't be, at minimum decent volume, especially with the Schroeder cab.

I plan on getting a carvin poweramp unless a good deal comes along, so I should be in good shape.

That cab needs some serious power to get the juices flowing.
I don't think he mentioned trying it with the Schroeder and I suspect it would have done fine with any of the Schroeder cabs.
[Hi; I'm anal and I just wanted to clarify.]
Larry Kaye said:I wasn't sure but really, I didn't think the Mesa was tried out with the Schroeder. It couldn't have been!!! The other guys on the Megathread who have Mesa's be them the hybrids or the 400+ have said nothing but good things and none complained about a lack of volume, even with the 300 watter walkabouts.
I wasn't aware that this particular Bergie cabinet, or maybe the entire model/line (the NV's), not the other front vented group of cabs, were that inefficient where a strong 600 watt head couldn't generate a pretty darn decent amount of volume. Even if they didn't have 104 or 103 spl ratings, it's still puzzling, and thankfully not a problem that I'm dealing with using my setup, but here is an instance where a 410 Schroeder is perceived to be louder than a higher end 610 cabinet.
Obviously there's a difference in tone, but if ya like the Schroe tone to begin with, these other benefits (volume, size, weight, price) are icing on the cake.

jnprather said:I was browsing this megathread and noticed this comment. I have a BBE Bmax so I took interest in your comment that the case cover wouldn't fit because of the BMax and another unit. I'm kind of surprised because the knobs on the BMax don't stick out very far. Could you confirm for me that, in fact, a Schroeder rack cover wont fit with a BMax in it, and if so, did you have any issues/problems with 'redrilling' your rack?
Thanks,
John

What's cool about your example is that you're using a medium sized, 1212 cabinet, not the 410, 21012, or 310212 and it looks like from your settings that the amp isn't breakin' much of a sweat for the cabinet to produce the volume you're looking for, yes?

Shoot, in 20 years I'll be sixty -seven and unable to carry my 21012 around anymore. I guess I'd better get a 1210 too for when I'm old!lo-freq said:Ask us that again in about 20 yrs.
