Snowbass: I'm only here to feed the fire:
21012 regular: 1200 Watts 80lbs. Lights: 1000 Watts, 55lb
310212 regular: 2100 Watts, 110lbs. Lights: 1700 Watts, 72lbs.

If those ain't lightweight ass kickin' machines, I don't know what are.

On topic ... there are 1212 and 1210 lights too ?!? Gah, never even thought of it. How much do those weigh ?! Are the dimensions for all these the same?

310212: ~ 70lbs.
410: ~ 55lbs.
21012: ~ 53lbs.
1212: ~ 38lbs.
1210: ~ 36lbs.
1010: ~ 34lbs.
Mini 12: 20lbs

Can anyone give any comments on regards to volume and responsiveness of these compared to the standard cabs?

I'm sure Jorg wouldn't market them if they aren't in the same league, but is there a largely noticable difference?

Now to patiently wait for a price list :hyper:

I wrote Jorg to find out when these light weights would be available and he replied that he's targeting the beginning of February.
Due to the increased cost of the speakers, there will be a slight price hike put he anticipated that they would still be available for less than "another well known ultra-light cabinet manufacturer". He's doing his best to keep the performance specs the same as well.
Can't wait to hear how these turn out! Literally.

A price increase is very well warranted by what I'm hearing so far.

Now I'm really wondering if a Schroeder Light Mini 12 or Mini 12+ would suit my needs along with a Mesa Walkabout. That would make my entire rig weigh less than anyone I know's gigging cabinet or rack alone.

That may be a bit much to ask out of that combo....but I"m really not pushing my current setup at all(actually recieving complaints of too loud....which irked me because I often ask if I'm too loud..and always hear 'no'). It could possibly handle it....mmmmmmm

I personally have no idea, but I would prefer to see it added instead of replaced.

That would allow for a line of lower prices excellent sounding cabs that still have a very modest weight and a higher priced line with less weight which hopefully sacrifices little to none of the original sound quality.

I was putting my new Warwick FNA Jazzman LTD 2004 fiver through its paces last night for my guitarist (This Warwick has one of the most unbelieveable tonal palettes I've heard froma single bass, but that is for another thread and another forum). My guitarist reached over and cranked me up to half way on everything (Preamp gain, premap master) and half of the 1450 watts I had bridging into my Schro 21012. :hiding:

I made a run up the B and E strings, and as I reached the 12th fret on the B, a light bulb in the ceiling fan above us that had previously been pronounced dead for months came back to life and lit the room up twice as bright! It has remained operational since.

We laughed for about 5 minutes straight over that. Of course then we had to replace the two windows I blew out, but hey, it was worth it! :bassist:

I have never been so in love with playing the bass as I have since my 21012 has arrived. ;)

Hey troll (and anyone else with a 310212) if you guys have the time, could you maybe post up a review of your monster schroeder. I know there is a brief one somewhere in this thread, but I can't find another one anywhere! there are reviews of all of jorgs other cabs on bith BGRA and Harmony Central, but nothing on the 310212?

Please could someone let us know how this thing sounds, weighs, performs!?

Hello guys. My new 1212 arrived a little while ago. As with the 1210, I love it! It is actually quite different sounding from the 1210... very much more open in the low end.... very smooth, and somewhat louder at the same amp and bass setting when I A/B the 1210 to th 1212 (with a Focus at the moment). Very nice cab... I will be replacing a very wonderful sounding Epi310UL that was unfortunately getting buried with the (unfortunately) very loud groups I typically gig with in St. Louis. I actually prefer the sound of the Epi310UL slightly, but the Schroeder just blows it away volume-wise, and is quite a bit smaller (if somewhat heavier), which works well cramming it into the rentals I typically get down there. Both the 1210 and 1212 are just great sounding, with the 1210 having a very noticable mid punch (I assume due to the 10" speaker), and the 1212 sounding like a HUGE cab, with very strong lows. Just great!

Anyway, the main purpose of my post is to once again sing Jorg's praises regarding service. The first 1212 that was delivered late last week was really beat up from shipping... the tweeter was actually ripped out of the baffle board, etc. I sent Jorg an email and about 1/2 hour later I recieved a call. He immediately sent me a new cab, which left his shop a few days prior to the old one returning. Very cool!
